so after a fun day of golf and (i start a lot of these posts that way huh?) a short nap, it was time to eat. sol has been telling me to go to ocean prime for a while and last week i found out a friend of mine's brother works there as a bartender. those tw

i'd dined at ocean prime in tampa and always had a good experience, so on a recent trip to dfw we tried this location. i must say it was superb in nearly everyway. beautiful décor, with multiple private dining rooms, plus excellent wait staff and food. everything about it was excellent and we'll be sure to dine here again in the future.

nice place, but i won't be going back any time soon... i was served partially cooked salmon (it was supposed to be well done)... it's probably not a reason to avoid the place but it's expensive for the crappy food...

went there for lunch with a few colleagues, and really enjoyed it. highly recommend this place. everything i ordered was delicious, but especially their layered carrot cake for dessert.

a quiet confidence pervades the chic veneer. the staff is professional and subdued. the appetizers are plentiful and well presented. i really enjoyed the surf and turf, despite a cool center to my customary “ black and blue” fillet , which they readily fixed, the meal was memorable. the jalapeño au gratin remarkable! three cheers all around!

we really enjoy bringing our kids here. we come for happy hour and sit in the lounge area. they get to snack on popcorn and we order from the small bites menu or regular menu. magdalena took very good care of us recently and we will be back again soon!!

ocean prime has a beautiful dinning room. comfortable and well appointed. great selection of wine. service was good. nice variety on the menu. perfect size portions. the 10 layer carrot cake is a must. nice flavors and not overly sweet. definitely recommend ocean prime

redemption. 2012 was the worst service ever for my birthday dinner but 12/11/13 a surprise b day dinner and the service was excellent and the food was just as great. thanks to our waiter david! glad ocean prime now has the service to go with the great food.

delicious!. one of the best meals i have had in dallas! the best sea bass my husband and i have ever eaten. the mac and cheese and yams with marshmallows were also outstanding! also loved the atmosphere! fun, without being too loud to hear each other talk. great place for a fancy date night! we also had the berries martini that has dry ice in it.. too cool!!

i've been here three times now. each time we've had an excellent experience. seated before our reservation. attentive service by waiters that are good at noting when they should talk or if they might be i trudging on conversation. great cocktails, excellent ahi app, sea bass is fabulous as was the crab filled tilapia. we indulged in the macaroni and cheese which was rich but wonderful. then we sampled a decadent chocolate/peanut butter/oreo desert. perfect for special occasions.

nice rebound from a poor performance a couple of months ago.

poor performance. after such a great experience last month we returned to ocean prime last night for dinner for 4...imagine our disappointment when we had a negative experience at nearly every encounter! unfriendly greeting at the door - hostess seemed stressed and rushed and the house was only half full! waiter missed on nearly every opportunity, screwed up order, timing was terrible (nearly an hour to get entrees after apps and salads), and steak had clearly set on plate under hot plate! no apology offered, no "thanks for coming:", no "come and see us again"...and we won't. food was okay, but come on, it about the service!

outstanding dining experience. great overall experience from the appetizers (the tuna tar tar is the best anywhere on the planet), to the salad to our entrees (salt and pepper tuna is fantastic). fish dishes were both creative and very fresh. be sure to save room for the incredible key lime tart - worth the guilt. the best part of our evening may have been the 1/2 price wine (sunday only); our waiter, adam, delivered impeccable service throughout our meal!

food doesn't measure up to the beautiful decor.

not so great. as we venture to dallas once a month, i am always looking for a new restaurant to try. it was ocean prime's turn for the month of june. we were seated with no problems and ordered drinks. they are on the expensive side with a call liquors costing $12-$15 each.
had a fondue appetizer that was average at best but then had a shrimp cocktail (3 huge shrimp @$16) which were excellent. our entrees were average (sea bass, fillet, bone-in ribeye, ribeye) with the exception of one: my daughter ordered crab cakes and they were not very good at all. the atmosphere was very nice, with much eye candy, but i don't think it was worth the high prices for the quality of food overall.

pretty good over all. bob's still has the best steak in dallas though! good place for larger parties. great desserts. my favorite side is the truffle mac'n cheese. nice fun bar too! service is inconsistent. sometimes great sometimes lame.

way more impressed than expected. expensive but great food, great service, beautiful patio & restaurant. i would def recommend for a special occasion or 2 just hang on patio! i def plan to return!
