nutty greek bake shop

overrated.

gyro was made from prepackaged frozen meat and commercially available tzatziki sauce.
feta used in the greek salad was utter garbage quality.

the baked goods looked good and may be worth checking out. perhaps that's why this place is hyped up.

possibly the only greek bakery in ottawa (is it why it's called nutty? j.k.)!
small, cheerful place on a forgotten corner in centretown (the address is on rochester, but the entrance on beech st... go figure. more nuttiness?)
now, for the food.... have only tried their sweet baked goods and these are rich, fresh and tasty. not the cheapest place but good quality for the (medium) price.
coffee is good and service is friendly & efficient.
will be back!

great place! the prices are reasonable, the staff was friendly and the cupcakes are really, really good! i had the cookies and cream and the peanut butter chocolate and they were both good. plus there's lots to choose from, so definitely worth returning too.

grabbed a spanakopita and frappe to go at lunch. unfortunately, i was left very disappointed at the spanakopita's lack of taste and it had too many layers of phyllo. i am open to trying their desserts but i don't think i'll try the spanakopita again.

unfortunately overrated. while some of the items are somewhat tasty they are not homemade nor authentic enough in flavour or quality to warrant such high prices. comparable to grocery store baked goods. disappointed!

this place is awesome. it's a quaint little joint tucked away from busy preston st, but it should definitely not be ignored!
their loukoumades are to die for; soft and pillowy with a nice crisp outside. i tried both the traditional honey coated ones, but also a cinnamon sugar version that they had (think beavertails). both are delicious, i would come back here just for these.
i also got some baklava, which was fresh and so fragrant. it wasn't too sweet like some other baklava that you might've tried and most definitely made in house each day.
great service, great food, most definitely worth a visit

good place for quick tasty bites.  both gyro and chicken souvliaki were fresh and tasty....good portion of meat added.  great selection of desserts including bougatsa.  staff were pleasant and business continues to improve.  we will be back.

fresh, tasty and friendly. wonderful place and hidden gem that everyone should try!

great gyro pita - consisting of tasty gyro meat, fresh vegetables, delicious tzatziki served on a warm and moist pita bread. a hearty and light tasting sandwich that doesn't leave you disappointed!

go for the greek village salad, it consists of another fantastic combination of tomatoes, olives, green/red peppers, cucumbers and a perfect mixture of crumbled feta, olive oil and oregano. a meal on itself that is both refreshing and appetizing.

soups are varied throughout the weekdays, some hit and miss which range from creamy chicken, tomato basil to leek and potato. some decent but not all of them are great.

now onto the best part of the place and most underrated food item on their menu...their loukoumades - aka honeyballs. basically a greek version of timbits on steroids. order a batch fresh and eat right away and the learn that one bite of these can brighten up your day. i offered one to my friend at the office, at first reluctant to try something different but after one bite, the words out of his mouth were...'eating one of these is like an orgasm in your mouth'. 'nuff said.

desserts - well just decadent but you have to join a gym to work out if you want to try all the varieties without blowing up the belly.

hidden gem. this is one of my favorite places to grab lunch or a early dinner in little italy. they have the best gyros in town. my only complaint, being someone who lives very close, would be that they are not open late enough (open till 7).

love this bake shop!. delicious fresh pita wraps! order it with extra tzatziki. it's homemade and the world's best...they should seriously consider bottling it! couple it with an extremely fresh salad - i personally enjoy the village salad - and you have a full meal. but save room for the "greek honey balls" - loukoumades. order a batch early as they are made fresh and to order. finish the meal with a truly unique coffee...try the fredo cappuccino - it is quite a pretty drink!

delicious everything and friendly service. my boyfriend and i live very close and go there at least once a week. everything we have tried on their menu is amazing. their gyros and pita wraps are tasty with a generous amount of meat. their desserts, which are homemade, are absolutely delicious, from their cheesecakes, cupcakes, baklava, to their biscotti, you will be glad you didn't skip on the dessert. had their hot chocolate for the first time and it was perfect, they make it with ghidelli (spelling?) chocolate, and it was yummy. also, if you like iced coffee, they have an amazing iced frappe coffee which is made with greek coffee, you will be amazed. there are two younger female staff who are delightful. we absolutely love coming here and look forward to trying everything on their menu.
