great food, nice host, good view. i stayed on hayden island for a multi-day conference and came across the positive reviews for norma's kitchen. it is a gem of a restaurant. i had the bbq ribs, cornbread and rice and beans the first time i stopped by and it was fantastic. the nexteveningi came back for the gumbo, which was tasty. the third, and final evening, i had the same rib meal again. what i loved about norma's was the friendly staff, who created a welcoming environment that encouraged patrons to interact, the view of the river, and the food, which was delicious. i highly recommend that if you are on the island for a conference or just passing through, that you stop at norma's and enjoy some down home cooking and hospitality.
