could not have been more disappointed. first, the menu is very difficult to decipher. what isn't in a foreign language is just foreign sounding words. you can't get a picture of anything on the menu.
our party of 6 was in consensus this is a no repeat.
tried the artichoke appetizer and that was delicious. everything else was a fail. portions were small. prices were high. the service was inattentive and we didn't appreciate being charged an automatic 20% because of our party size when we had to flag down the waiter several times during our visit.
the asparagus appetizer was also good but very over priced at $14. the lobster ravioli was dull in a broth and difficult to eat from a bowl without plopping ravioli in the process. too big for 1 bite but you can't fit them in a bowl.
the sausage entree was just not great. the short ribs entree was sparse. the rotolo with veal was good but not great. the almond frozen dessert, name i can't recall, was not worth finishing.
and $12 for a glass of prosecco also seemed high.
we left feeling ripped off.

nonna dallas - suzi the gm is offensive. offensive statements from suzi, the general manager. she actually told two of my friends and me "we need you out of here by 7:30." it was 6:15pm. she said to one friend, "we've had this conversation before." i'd just arrived, so i was too shocked to even respond. i didn't know what had already transpired. my friend had been there a couple nights before for a corporate dinner as a guest of a large online company. suzi decided to corner my friend and tell her they were taking too long.
fast forward to a couple nights later when a few others of us wanted to try the restaurant. suzi walked to the table at the same time i was walking to meet my friends. that's when she opened with "we've had this conversation before. i have an 18 top coming at 7:30, and they've had their reservation for 3 months. i need you out of here by 7:30." seriously. i'd been there 30 seconds.
offensive and appalling. i will never return.
i told the hostess and she shrugged her shoulders like she wasn't concerned.
suzi has no sense of customer service. i won't say what i really think....

nonna is one of the best and most well known italian restaurants in dallas. our reservation was honored on time, which we always appreciate. service by juan was outstanding.

the little gems salad is enough for 2 to split, and delicious. i had the snapper, perfectly cooked and really tasty. we enjoyed the delicate olive oil cake for dessert.

can't wait to go back for another special occasion.

one of those dallas institutions. been coming here since 2006/2007 i think when it first opened. small dining room, half open kitchen with a brick oven for their scrumptious bread. pastas are always rightly dressed - which is a rule for pasta and people.
good wine list. service could be better.

this is one of my favorite italian restaurants ever. even though i dont understand half of the menu, anything you order is fantastic. it is constantly changing which makes it difficult to recommend any one dish, but the pizzas are always good, the salads are awesome (and i dont even like salad), the wine pairings are always on point and the dessert menu is unreal. definitely get here for a nice occasion. also i saw bon jovi here once and that was enough for me.

i really enjoyed my time at nonna's. there was a bit of a long wait for our reservation, but once seated, we were very comfortable and happy. it was a birthday dinner, and they brought out a nice gelato with a candle at the end. i ordered the maine lobster ravioli, and it was one of the most delicious dishes i've eaten. the noodles are handmade, and the lobster inside is a big clump. the flavor was perfect. there wasn't a sauce, but a broth, and it was perfect with the lobster. we ordered one of each of the desserts, and all were eaten very quickly. i also enjoyed the crispy cannellini beans with chili that have a little bite to them. i also loved the marinated cucumbers with watermelon and feta, and fresh chilis. the parking is ok, and seating is a bit limited, but the ambiance was wonderful. i love how you can see the big oven, and some of the process. the lighting is dim, but nice. the floors are also a bit slippery, so walk careful in heels. single-turn bathrooms. it was definitely busy. i'll definitely go back.

hostess directed us to the bar to wait for our table. the bartender was extremely rude. his poor conduct gave us a negative attitude toward the restaurant and our dining experience. we won't return to nona.

nothing better in texas. this and lucia have no competition in all of texas if you are looking for seriously great northern italian food. no huge cheesy dishes with overwhelming sauces. delicate handmade pastas, pizzas, and mains. 5 stars. great service. knowledgeable staff. try as many courses as your stomach will hold.

i made a reservation for my husbands birthday a week and a half in advance. we showed up at 7:15 for a 7:30 reservation. we were escorted to the bar, where we waited 20 minutes for drinks. we were seated only to be pulled back up from our table and then placed back at the bar, by mistake. it was 30 minutes after our reservation and we still weren't seated. at this point, we just left, and asked them to comp our drinks. it was such a bummer because we have heard the food is amazing, we were just so disappointed by the service that we didn't get to try it.

chef barsotti came out of the kitchen wearing clothes one might see on andy roddick before a tennis match at wimbledon. extending his right chef hand for a shake, he asked if i was here for the lobster roll. he had previously spoken with the chef from carbone’s about the quest to have a life changing lobster roll lunch.

my absolute favorite. i have been to nonna at least 6 times. love it. one of the best restaurants in the city. it is so sad to read all the negative reviews. i have never had anything but impeccable service and the food has consistently dazzled. the serving sizes are ample for an average person. one should be aware of their expanded appetite needs and plan accordingly. my boyfriend and i have always shared a salad, pasta and entree and been full to the brim. all i can say is i hope that too many people don't heed the complaints of some and miss out on the meal of their lives!

ok but not worth the price. first the way they do the reservations is odd. we asked for a 6:30 reservation but were told they only had 6pm available. we did arrive at 6 and when leaving at 7:30 there were a few empty tables that stayed that way during our entire stay. our guess was that they try to seat at 6, 7:30 and 9 but why not let guests have a 6:30 when tables are not full. food: my guest had a veal appetizer , the slices were too think and made it unappealing. i had the crab. it was good but really just a fried soft shelled crab, fried onions and a pretty bland aioli. for the main entree the lobster ravioli was very good, the gnocchi tasted just like lasagna with odd beans added. not worth $17. the homemade limoncello was bad. i have been to italy and this was no where close to what they create over there. for dessert, the panna cotta was just ok. the chopped up malted milk balls made me wonder if they made them or just got them out of a box, the chocolate hazelnut tart was good. won't bother to return. not the quality for the price.

the food and service have always been impeccable. we come here at least twice every time we're in dallas.

really exceptional, fresh food. my family and i have been to this place twice and will be back as soon as we can. they have some of the freshest, most amazing italian food i've had in a long time. i would plan on having more than one course as the portions are designed to be modest. save this place for a special occasion and do it right....3-4 courses!

ceo. last evening i had one of the worst dining experiences in the dfw area. the food was a b+ and the service an f-. what in the world are all those raving reviews about? our server was so bad there is not enough training that could help him. i hope all those tu/ou fans this weekend find a better place for dinner.
