it's a lovely place. this restaurant specializes in northern thai food, and you won't find a common popular dish like pad thai which you expect to find in a regular thai restaurant. the food was a bit too salty for me. but, overall it was ok.

we love noi. food has always been delicious. prices are a little high, but not any more than the other restaurants in the downtown area.

my husband and i just enjoyed a delicious lunch from the happy hour menu in the bar. the atmosphere and decore are very upscale and authentic looking. the service was just right friendly and professional. the food was typical american thai (yummy) a little on the sweet side for me. but delicious and we will definitely come here again! especially for special occasions.

thai basil stir fried/ pad ka prau* **. noi thai pad ka prau menu description does not match what we received. only 25% of meal consisted of ingredients listed on menu.

-----30 jan, 2015-----

worst thai i've had in years. it was snowy and bitterly cold on new years eve 2014. it was also my girlfriend's birthday so we decided to stay in for the night. i wanted to treat her to a delicious birthday meal, which would also be our last meal of 2014.

our delivery options were limited, but bend takeout advertised that they delivered from noi thai so we placed our order for 3 entrees...2 orders of pad ka prau and 1 order of yellow curry (all vegan).

when our order was delivered, we excitedly opened the boxes. at first we thought we'd received the wrong order. the pad ka prau we received contained 75% ingredients that were not mentioned on the menu. instead of the basil, bell peppers, bamboo shoots and fried tofu, there was an abundance of "filler" vegetables like big chunks of cabbage, bok choi, celery, baby corn, and broccoli. none of these vegetables were mentioned on the menu.

each order of the fried tofu pad ka prau contained just 5 pieces of tofu and very few bell peppers or bamboo shoots. once we had pulled out all the filler vegetables that weren't mentioned on the menu, our meal had shrunk to just 25% of the original volume (see photo).

the yellow curry was at least a bit more faithful to the ingredients listed on the menu. it did contain broccoli which i've never seen in yellow curry and which wasn't mentioned on the menu either. the potatoes weren't completely cooked and were unpleasantly crunchy. there were only 6 small pieces of tofu in the entire order. our rice appeared to have been sitting in the rice cooker for hours and was crusty.

i spent $40 on this horrible birthday meal. bend takeout charged another $10 delivery fee and since it was nye, i tipped another $10. in all, i spent $60 for one of the worst thai meals i've had in over 20 years of loving thai food.

the last two times i went to noi were good. the staff was friendly and they accommodated when we asked to relocate to a table that was warmer.

unfortunately, i have to say i judged too soon. food= good, service + accommodation= poor

we made reservations the night before for the special low table with the curtains. i had friends from out of town to visit and i wanted to have something special. the woman on the phone stated that they did not have a reservation at the time i wanted and that we were set. the next day however, we were told our reservation was lost. we were reluctantly seated at a table with the least aesthetic surroundings as well as conveniently onlooking the party who are at the table we reserved. i asked the hostess if we could switch to the table that we had reserved once the party was finished and she gave me a somewhat blurry answer. from that, i did not feel like she cared at all that we had made a reservation that they had lost. i reminded my waiter kindly of our situation and he said he would have to relay my request back to the person in charge. from then, the waiter seem to be quick and avoiding us. i would have expected the opposite service as we were already disappointed in the professionalism of the restaurant and their unapologetic nature in losing our reservation.

we ordered and received our food. it looked delicious and tasted wonderful. they party who sat in our table had just left after our plates arrived and i reminded the waiter if we could move. it was not until i brought this up again that he then informed me that we were not granted the permission of the charger personal to do so. i asked if there was another reservation for that table at this time or in the near future and he replied simply: no. um, what?!? so, apparently the table that i had reserved (that was lost) could not be given to me after we had waited at another table and there was absolutely no reason that we could have the table now? he then casually suggested a "couple of complementary desserts" and to his obvious surprise i accepted. it took him a long time before he quickly (literally) tossed us the dessert menus and left without asking if we had any further questions. we picked the fried ice-cream (which was heaven). 10 minutes later, the table we had reserved was given to a family of 5. the remained of our evening, consisted of watching yet another party enjoying the table we had reserved.

the dessert was truly delicious but i have to say i felt very unhappy with the restaurant's response to a mistake they had made and i never once received an apology. during my stay, i would have to say 75-80% i felt under-valued (perhaps of my young appearance and those of my peers) and not taken seriously or with respect to my concerns. the only time i felt good at the restaurant was when i was eating the food.

great food. my wife and i have eaten here twice. the food is always top quality for thai in bend. we have so few choices. the pricing though leaves something to be desired. the family portion of the tom kha soup is way overpriced for the quantity of ingredients. as i said taste wise it is very good. personally i feel that $70.00 for lunch is a bit high. maybe i eat to much...

i don't usually complain about prices, i wasn't expecting cheap food, but $10+ for 4 slices of eggplant was ridiculous. aside from that, the meal was great and the service was adequate.

very poor. i made reservations three weeks in advance of valentine’s day. when my wife and i arrived for our valentine’s day dinner we were seated at a bar on bar stools. i asked if we could be moved to a table. after all, it is valentine’s day. they refused to move us. obviously, the restaurant had been overbooked and they were seating people in any possible space. we were very disappointed in our experience. shame on you noi, for putting financial profit ahead of your customers dining experience.
