being the maryland native that i am, there is nothing that makes me happier in the summer than crab feasts, crab cakes, crab pretzels, old bay seasoning, and of course, cheesy crab dip with a steaming hot baguette to scoop it up. of all the aforementioned crab dishes, this one is by far the worst for you…

slow service, bland food. i was looking forward to taking my sister there from out of town...nice location, on the water. unfortunately, this was a mistake. it took over an hour for two entrees (fish 'n chips and fried shrimp) to come out. we finally asked to have them to go as i had to get back to work and it was an additional 15 minutes before our order was ready. the food was bland and the sweet potato fries were not fully cooked. they did give me a very small discount off the bill, which was appreciated. unfortunately, i will not be going back to nick's.

great views, right on the water, lots of parking, lots of seating. we came for a late dinner after work and there was about a 45 minute wait, even though no one was actually standing and waiting. they have their own pier if you want to come by boat. the food offerings were plentiful, however the cooks need a little more experience or help, as our seared tuna was not seared and was overcooked. the steamed shrimp and loaded fries were great. the cocktails were well mixed. the service in the bar area was a little subpar. overall, i would come back and try something different, since ample outdoor seating on the water is limited in the city.

we dined outside on a saturday on a gorgeous spring day. the seating hostess would not seat us where we wanted (by the water) because she said the one remaining table was reserved for parties of 6 (even though there were plenty parties of 2 eating at similar tables by the water). after that non-auspicius start, though, things got better. our server, jesse was great and the food was really good. photos attached. we will be back...

baltimore is known for outdoor dining, steamed old bay crabs, and sitting by the water.  at nick’s, you can do all three.  i joined one of my besties and her parents for her birthday and a table full of crabs. these were a combo of larges and mediums.  all steamed up and then covered in spicy old bay.  these guys were perfectly done and had a ton of sweat, juicy crab meat.  i somehow managed not to nick my fingers on their sharp edges; good thing since that old bay stings.  i like that they don’t have a heavy season on the meat, so you can taste the crab.  i dunked it in the old bay crumbs with a  little vinegar or butter; we had both.

if you are looking for a great brunch or lunch spot in baltimore that is located on the water, nick's is your place! they have great brunch options, affordable prices, and friendly staff. definitely try the fish tacos - one of the best i've had. check out my blog munching the globe for the full review!

awesome!!!! we promised our daughter in law soft shell crabs. we arrived at nick's at 11am. our server said that they did not have them but made some other suggestions. we all placed our orders. to our delight, our service came back a few minutes later to tell us they just received a shipment of the soft shell crabs. our daughter in law was so happy. she ordered a 1/2 doz. of the large soft shell crabs. she said they were the best she has ever had! my husband had the crab cake dinner and i had the fresh salmon sandwich with sweet potato fries. our server was superior! thank you for a wonderful meal. we will be back!!!!!

there's one reason i go to nick's. it's a cool deck on the water and they have "live" music on weekends. oh, they do have food but it's not the reason to go. but if you do go, their crab pretzel is large and decent. the crab soups are good. they are a crab house, but if i want to crackem i go elsewhere. it's a friday/saturday summer deck with "live" music with buckets of beer. it's all about the atmosphere.

...i have to recommend this place strongly. it is a great place for friends to get together and a romantic place for couples. nick's is located right along a pier and you have a gorgeous view. moreover, the food does not disappoint.

between the delicious food, the water views plus our friendly and attentive waitress, we were glad to have taken the time to find our way off the beaten paths to nick’s.

...most importantly, the food is good, even for a vegetarian like me. i always order the same thing – salad with organic greens. i always ask them to remove the tomatoes and add avocado which they do with no problem. unlike most restaurants that don’t reduce the price when i ask for something without, and then charge extra when i ask for a replacement like avocado, nick’s didn’t charge me for the additional avocado. i like that. and while it may seem

we found this crab cake to be simply amazing! the crab tastes super sweet and is very, very tasty. there isn't much spice at all, but with crab meat this good, you won't need it or miss it (although a tiny bit more would make it that much better). aside from the crab, the only other thing you taste is the breading, which still remains as a background flavor. we highly recommend this crab cake!

this is the best seafood we have had since we've been in baltimore! i loved the crabs and the alfredo was delicious. i recommend this restaurant to everyone who visits baltimore.
