went in for pad thai, ordered deep fried wontons as appetizers. they brought us the wrong ones (fine, it happens) but instead of trading it for what we want, they made a bigger deal than they should have asking us what exact number on the menu we ordered. the shrimp wontons were actually good, but that was the only positive thing about our experience.
when we received our pad thai, we asked for forks. my girlfriend was handed a dirty fork, caked with food and dry saliva. it was disgusting. we should have left right then and there but we were so hungry that we would've settled for mcdonalds at this point (probably should have) so we decided to stay after they gave us "clean" forks.
right away, the smell of the pad thai was off. it was coated in way too much oil and sauce, and smelled like ketchup. right after our first bite we cringed, and agreed that something was off. we tried one more bite, and again, it tasted weird. it was as if a 5 year old child made macaroni and cheese and put way too much ketchup in it. ketchup does not go.. in pad thai. we aren't usually picky and we really tried to eat it but it was disgusting and not worth the money.
i went to inform them that it tasted off and that i just want to pay for the appetizer and leave. instead of letting us do so, the server acted mad and said we just don't like pad thai, because he "just sold three of them and everyone loves our pad thai." except no one was eating what we had ordered... so the track record of lying about things (such as clean dishes) was consistent. he insisted that he can't do anything and has to bring it to the chef to see if something's wrong with it and that they can make a new one and went to the back before i could tell him no. he then returned and said everything was completely fine and we just don't like that type of food. i insisted again that i just want to pay and leave, and finally resentfully he let me.
it was the first time we had ever walked out on a restaurant, and i'm not excited to find out what kinds of diseases we may have caught off their cutlery. *pukes* don't go here unless you like your pad thai smothered in tomato soup.
