native foods cafe is known to vegan people. the food is made fresh daily—from homemade tempeh and seitan, to native cheese, to sauces and drinks, dressings and desserts too. the entire menu is 100% plant-based. personally, i like veggie grill better. cucumber and wakame seaweed salad, comes with sesame kale macro bowl . chimi chop salad $9.95 crunchy romaine, chopped grilled veggies, roasted corn kernels, sweet roasted peppers, garlic croutons and warm shaved native peppered seitan tossed with chimichurri and drizzled with ranch dressing. sesame kale macro bowl $8.95 grilled native tempeh atop steamed kale, brown rice, creamy ginger sesame sauce, and tangy sauerkraut. garnished with gomashio, toasted sesame seeds and green onion. rating: 3.7 / 5   service: 4 / 5 repeat: yes native foods cafe  9343 culver blvd culver city, ca 90232 mon-sun 11 am - 10 pm http://www.nativefoods.com/ http://www.yelp.com/biz/native-foods-cafe-culver-city-2

it says “cheeseburger” but there was no actual patty to be found? mostly thinly sliced seitan, which reminded me of “pulled pork.”

i don't usually eat at vegan restaurants, but this place was delicious! i had pad thai with tofu and it was extremely tasty! my friend had the coconut avocado wrap, and it was to die for! the slices of avocado are breaded with coconut and fried, and the wrap is filled with veggies and a delicious tangy dressing. you'll love it! the fresh juices are super tasty and quenching, too! i loved the watermelon one, but i tasted the lavender lemonade and it was yummy, too! i'd give it 5 stars but it's a little pricey considering there's no meat!

the first native foods cafe was opened in 1994 by a vegan pioneer in palm springs, california. to date, they have fourteen locations nationwide, with more locations opening this year, including san diego.

really tasty plant based food. the nachos were delicious. however, the place is a bit overpriced. $2 for guacamole on the nachos and it came with maybe two tablespoons of guac on them. will definitely be back to try more things, though.

hands-down, native foods has the best faux-reuben sandwich ever. i've tried the other menu options, including various sandwiches and bowls, but i prefer veggie grill for those dishes much more. the fries at native foods were under-cooked and the ranch dressing had the consistency of soupy water ( i.e. not edible). desserts are ok--especially the rose-flavored cupcake. but i will come back here for the incredible vegan reuben.
very friendly service.

september 21, 2013 by cobi | 0 comments if someone asked me where to enjoy vegan versions of all their favorite comfort foods, i’d send them to native foods cafe . from reuben sandwiches to burgers and decadent desserts, these dishes hit the spot. on this trip, i ordered the  yo amigo taco salad.  it’s a huge bowl of romaine, cabbage, native taco meat, topped with corn, green onion, cilantro, tortilla chip croutons and salsa fresca. the creamy chipotle dressing is dee-lish and also good for dipping sweet potato fries! i slurped down a cup of corn chowder and started thinking about dessert. the strawberry shortcake was irresistible. light vanilla cake and organic strawberries layered with almond cream was dreamy. my inner fat kid wanted to taste the peanut butter parfait,so i got one of those to-go. creamy whipped peanut butter filling layered between boogie bar (banana bread)crumbles and chocolate chips is crazy good. i hope the consumption of a big salad cancels out the extra calories

even if you're not a vegan, or even vegetarian, you will likely find the offerings here delicious and satisfying. as an omnivore, i have found nothing lacking in any of the items i've tried (tacos, burritos, salads, soups). for a counter-order place, it's pretty slick - clean and attractive, and conveniently located to watch the action on the square.
