food is good, but they consistently under estimate their wait times. by quite a bit. not worth it unless you can get seated immediately.

a solid virginia highland go to place. murphy's has been around for a while, at the current location as well as previously around the corner. over the years thefoodhas been consistently well above what you would expect for the area. the restaurant has a feeling of competence and order that is very rarely seen, the kitchen always produces good food, and the service works well.
murphy's has a regular lunch and dinner service as well as a very popular weekend brunch that is very reasonably priced. while keeping the customer favorite dishes stay on the menu, they do manage to keep the menu fresh and seasonal.
the wine list is extensive, and the markups are not that bad. the wine shop in the bar area has quite a few surprises, wines you normally would expect to find.
