murphy's

expensive. this place has excellent food. the wait and price could almost turn me away. i tried their daily soup special which was cream of mushroom. it was delish.

sure it was a long wait and a bit pricey, but the food was well worth it. there omelette is off da chain. nice place to go to.

wait told wait time of 20 minutes and was 45 minutes . then seated on the porch but was also told it was just as nice as the inside restaurant. i am here to tell you that the porch in the winter is not as nice as inside. ate dinner with our coats on and buttoned and will never go back.

chicken burger??? yeah awesome chicken burger. so glad i was with my wife and family today at murphy's. that way , i get to sample everyone's dish!! allison had the best amongst some really good things ordered!! the spinach chicken burger and it was tasty!! i gave her half of my murphy burger which was cooked to med rare, the way i asked and was great too! i prefered my white bean soup to her sweet potato but they were both good! i hope to be back soon!! enjoy!

always a 10!. i love murphy's for a sunday brunch spot. the food is always good and the mimosas are amazing! i think its the fresh squeeze oj! my only dislike are the extended waits but it is worth it once you sit down. cheers!

overpriced, overhyped. this place gets rave reviews. i must be missing something, but i prefer to trust my palate as it has served me well for 35 years.
i have lived in many large cities, and atlanta is still lacking in true great neighborhood places.
i am told that was the origin of murphy's but now they have gone chain crazy, being part of some group.

good deserts, mediocre food. not american fare as thought.
tried dinner and brunch, but third time will not be a charm. overpriced wines to boot, and zero parking

brunch fantastic!. my wife and i dined here saturday morning around 10am and the food was fantastic! great environment, service was very solid and the food was fantastic. best crab cake sandwich i've ever had.

will definitely be back!

good brunch. i always liked this place, hope you can get away from concentrics.

tasty brisket. horseradish beef brisket was great. the truffle mac and cheese was also very good. a bit pricey but definitely delicious.

dinner tonight at murphys was great. flatbread to start, shrimp and grits then good ol' creme brûlée for desert. some good wine selections too. mighty fine evening

we've had nothing but bad experiences here. the people are rude and the food is subpar at best.

chilaquiles!. stopped in for breakfast last weekend and it was very nice. i really appreciate that they have some nice and unusual breakfast options. i went with the chilaquiles. large serving, very tasty, very nice tomatillo sauce that complimented the dish well. as always, service was pretty close to perfect, attentive but not hurried.

lunch in vihi. hit murphy's for a quick business lunch today. as always, a nice cozy atmosphere and good (not great) service.

we started off sharing an order of the calamari that was lightly breaded and perfectly cooked accompanied by couple sauces. the best part of our lunch!

for my meal, i had the crab cakes w/ vegetables escabeche (basically sauteed peppers and onions), chili mayonnaise and matchstick potatoes. the crab cakes were pretty average... nothing magical. the vegetables and mayo worked with the crab cakes, but the pile of matchstick potatoes were both difficult to manage and didn't add much. ultimately, a perfectly acceptable but pretty average lunch.

"fresh is the word". if fresh is the word, murphy's restaurant is for you, a true understanding of southern cuisine, with a very creative flair. not like most high end restaurants, after having a bunch a small portions and you get home and find yourself looking for something to eat, he creates a very well balance meal that you can savor and appreciate the dinning experience. this is a place that i been known to drive out of my way to dine in.
my only knock is that he does not have any vegetarian meals on the menu so it's "a la carte" for you. had to pleasure to meet chef tom, great guy and loves his passion and works much too hard and long, i worry about him sometimes. i have always had a great dinning experience here.

murphy's. great service, great food, great environment. i'll suggest this restaurant to anyone!
