this is a lovely place for a weekday brunch.
my mother and i popped in, and were very pleasantly surprised by their large cappuccinos (delicious) and breakfast choices. she had eggs florentine, which were absolutely gorgeous, and apparently delicious. i had one of the specials, which was essentially poached eggs on a breakfast hash of tomato, onion, mushrooms and bacon, on an english muffin, with hollandaise drizzled on top.
it was great! however, their lemon meringue pie is truly divine, and i'm very glad we shared it as it is incredibly rich.
there were only two thing i did not enjoy. the first was a total lack of smokingarea- there was nobody else there, and we were sitting outside. by all means, have a non-smoking area, but then have the courtesy to provide a smoking area, too. the second was the rock that was served as an accompaniment to our coffee. it was so hard that no amount of soaking made it edible. i think it was fossilized brioche.
so avoid that, but go crazy with everything else - it's lovely.
