great food and service!. i have nothing but great things to say about the food and staff at moses rose’s hideout. while in town at a conference, i decided to check this place out. the first time i had the buffalo chicken sandwich. the chicken was a big portion and it was delicious. i ordered this to go and was impressed when the bartender went to the self-serve condiment station and put together condiments for me instead of completely ignoring condiments (which is typical when you order to-go at restaurants). the second time i had a plain hamburger (just the way i like it). again, the meat and bread was delicious. this time, i mistakenly left my credit card sitting out. the bartender found it and called my bank. when my bank called they let me know what happened and said he was worried about me not having a card while i was out of town. this is great customer service as he went above and beyond tracking me down to make sure i was not inconvenienced during travel. thanks again moses rose’s.

great food. good burgers, but not the best service. since it is mostly a bar this should be expected. prices were perfect for the amount of food and everything was delicious.

i had a extremely uncomfortable experience last night, november 3rd 2019 about 1:20am
my 2 girlfriends and myself came here for one of the friends birthday celebration. we went to the restroom and all stalls were full, we all walked into 1 stall (birthday girl was tipsy and we wanted to make sure she didn't fall or pass out in there)
as soon as we walked into the stall, the bathroom attendent that was in there (old greyish hair lady with pigtails) yelled out "wow ladies really? 3 of you in one stall? come on, really?" then continued to yell things out while we took turns using the toilet.
now mind you, yes it was 3 of us in 1 stall but also wtf does it matter? it took us 8 minutes for us to use the rr, break that down divide it by 3 and it's the same amount of time it would have taken us to use individual stalls plus we were able to make sure our friend was good.
she is yelling at us to get out! at this point i'm pissed off, she sends in a grown man to the restroom and says "these girls have been in there forever and they won't come out!"
he was black,about 5'10-6ft ,black collared shirt and khaki pants... he walked in the restroom, looked over our stall and continued to stare at my friend that had her pants fully down while she was using the restroom and claimed "i needed to make sure y'all weren't doing drugs in there so i had to look over the stall!" then i swung the door open mad as hell obviously he just crossed the line and that lady is still yelling in the back she wants us to get out. literally less than 10 minutes in the restroom 🤦🏽‍♀️
when we stepped out his excuse for violating us and staring and my half naked female friend was "i'm retired cop so i have every right to look to see if y'all were doing coke, now that i saw y'all were only using the restroom then i can see you all did nothing wrong but i still had to do my job!"
my poor friend was going pee and had to look up to a grown man in the ladies restroom staring at her go pee because the bathroom attendent had a problem and he felt it was okay so peek over the stall
now i tried to contact a manager or owner after we left and all i got was "the bathroom attendent thought someone was passed out in the restroom so she sent in security to take a look and realized everyone in the was alert and okay"
that is a lie, we had full communication with her the entire time while she was yelling at us to get out from the first few seconds of walking in that stall, she knew for a fact that we were not passed out, on top of that he could of l
•under the stall and saw all 3 of us very okay
•tried to speak to us through the stall before looking over it like a pervert

he instead violated us, ecspecially my friend and smerked after like if we have no reason to be mad.
it was humiliating, uncomfortable and disturbing

i tried to get information on him from the other security guard and they said his name was "jason" i'm not sure if they named the right man but that's all we got from them

if this was handled correctly i wouldn't have write this review, but since i can't even get a response from the owners and it's being taken so lightly... 🤷🏽‍♀️

this place is kind of cute.  nice bar and the bartender jeff is great.   we visited 3 times during our 4 day stay.  drinks and food reasonably priced and half off appetizers in early afternoon.  only thing was that the first time we ate there at night, the food was much lower quality than during lunch.  bartender had the item redone and discounted our meal.  i think he was embarrassed because we were repeat customers.

go check out this fun place: awesome burgers, great fries, and a fun time getting in. we stopped in for lunch, the place was empty, but soon started to fill up. i'm sure evenings its hopping.

this is a bar with tv's for sports. i had one of the best hamburgers i have ever tasted. there was pulled pork or brisket on it with some of the best sweet and tangy bbq sauce i have ever tasted. they make the sauce in house or i would have bought some to take home.

when they're on they are on. when they're off they are off? wander what that means? it means when the right cooks are there and food is fresh. it is too die for! when rights cooks aren't there? nothing to brag about. they're armadillo eggs,burgers,meatloaf,pork chops and sides are amazing. if right cooks are there trust me you will be back. if wrong cooks are there. you won't be. wish they could lock consistency.

we enjoyed the fun entrance, the historic building. the service was good, but the choice of beers on tap was surprisingly slim. he had the damn good fries (with brisket) and the texas po boy. while the fries were decadent and tasty, there was actually a little too much stuff—they could take a lesson from poutine. the sandwich was great, though i was surprised that there was little smoke flavor in the brisket. i’d recommend—far more than the river wall touristy places.

really good house salad and steak finger basket. funky entrance was fun. wait staff friendly. manager/owner(?) came to our table to inquire as to our satisfaction. great stop for lunch.

food was ok, had the brisket tacos. the brisket was very tough and burnt on the ends (like put in a skillet and burnt). flavor was fair. another in our party got the grilled cheese and the cheese was semi melted. they only got half the order initially.. they did get the other half of the order 5 minutes later. the atmosphere was really great, sure it would be a cool place to come hang out and drink a beer.

great place for a burger and some good beer. not a fancy place, but friendly staff, good beer list and better burger list. good place to watch a basketball game.

chicken and waffle. incredible flavor. the sweet and savory at its best.

someone call bar rescue, not even kidding! we walked in and there was a game on but the dj, if you can even call him that, was walking around making jokes with people who walk in. we ordered our food and waited about 35 minutes. 2 out of the 4 meals were delivered. 1 of our orders was wrong and we were asked if we would take that instead of what we ordered? um.. no. i'm almost convinced that mine was never put in. so then we waited for another 15 minutes. when my food finally came out (the turkey melt) it was so salty that i couldn't even eat it. probably one of the worst places i've ever visited. if you're in san antonio, go somewhere else. skip the dirty fans, dj who is having his own party at 10:30, and a bar that needs to work on their branding. there were too many conflicting themes going on. add the mediocre service, terrible food, to that and you will have one of the biggest ole sh*tholes in san antonio. pass! save your time and money!

terrible service. service is just awful. shouldn't serve food. took over an hr to fed a table of 6 hot dogs and sandwiches.

we came here for a team outing and the staff was amazing!!! great food and even better service!!! thanks moses roses!
