morals & malice

for an upmarket bar they really need to do better with service. been here a couple of times. both visits the bar was not too busy, only a few customers. despite this, on both occasions the drinks arrived very late. there was two bartenders and they were only making our drinks, yet they still took around 15 minutes to arrive at our table. simply too long. i can't imagine how long it takes them to get drinks out when its busy. i tried numerous cocktails. they were nice, however they were all very sour, which tells you they don't have the balance right. on the second occasion, we ordered nachos. they came with a small side of salsa. we finished the salsa and still had lots of chips left, so we asked the waiter if we could have some more. he went away, came back and said 'sorry ma'am, you cannot have the salsa'. excuse me? over 300 pesos for a bowl of dry nachos and we can't have extra salsa? so i asked another waiter. similar response. i finally got a bit annoyed and asked for the manager - a lady. she said we can have extra salsa for 50 pesos extra. to which i replied 'yes okay, fine'. why i wasn't told that in the first place i don't know. the staff seem quite inexperienced. on the plus side the decor is nice and the chicken liver pate was very nice. all in all, they need to make serious improvements if they wish to be a higher end bar.

honestly, i haven’t tried food at morals and malice as it is more of a party place. lovely interiors and delicious cocktails! will definitely go back! a fave in cebu!

a place great for enjoyment. if you wish to party privately or with limited people, this is the place. cozy and posh. staff is nice and attentive. a bit pricey but reasonable.

you can either go to morals or malice. morals (rnb, hiphop type of music) and malice (house music). in our case, we love hiphop so we went to malice. good staff, a bit pricey with drinks but overall great 👌

1. ambience is quirky, something to be odd is good except for the quality of the dining chairs and/or the lounge chairs. they have extremely low seats and tables or the opposite. the high stools in one corner were too small for my butt and im an asian. i wonder how it would work for some who have big boned pelvis.
2.ordered seared salmon. it's mediocre. taste is bland and the mashed potato was dry and disgusting. texture of the salmon is overcooked.
3.drinks were the only thing i enjoyed here. the amaretto sour and the whiskey sour were perfect. not too sour and not to sweet balancing the alcohol with the sour mix.
4.service is excellent. prices were a bit high.
5. parking is limited. it was already full considering that there's still the tinder box restaurant below this place.
6.dj came in at 10:30, music was okay.

our first taste of cebu nightlife.... and we chose just the place! morals & malice is an excellent bar to chill at. interiors are great with cobonpue designed furniture. the hostesses are attentive without being snooty. and the place was packed with equal mix of foreigners and cebuanos.

we had two of their specialty cocktails. burning bush is a strong combination of whiskey, bourbon and a lots of other things garnished with a burning bush! (actually a twig of rosemary). morals sangria is a white wine based sangria. quite refreshing.

they take their food seriously here - not just run o' the mill barchow. beef tacos and beef lasagna which we got were very good. worthy of fine dining restaurants.

this place is ok, food isn’t too bad but a little expensive. enjoyed the sangria. it’s one of those places you can go chill and have a nice drink.

we celebrated our pre-valentines party here with my friends and we were awed by the decoration. we were so early there that we were the only people inside.

friendly and accommodating staff. we asked them to turn down the music as there were only 8 of us.

this place reminds me so much of sinners and saints (kaway sa mga 90's kid! 😆) only with a classy-er vibe.

i stayed in morals since i just wanted to grab a drink and talk with a friend. we were the only ones occupying the place that night so service wise they get a 10.

i havent tasted anything from their food menu so i cant rate them on that. i ordered the "burning bush" and my friend ordered a rhum coke. both cocktails were good, the burning bush, i can say is really strong, it was also nicely presented, concept was really cool... hehe. only managed to order one since i felt tipsy after this drink. the rhum coke was also good since you can very well taste the rhum unlike other bars wherein they dilute the rhum with so much with coke. ☹️

rating them a point lower since the prices are really high. the burning bush was at 380php, the rhum coke i forgot but paid more or less 700php+ for two drinks. i guess this spot is okay if you don't intend to get "dead drunk" or if you have alot of cash to spend. 👍 also, you need to dress up to go here, place is situated in an upscale part of cebu and in between high end resto's.

high end crowd with good sense of fashion. the drinks are as stylish as the ambiance. perfect for intimate chill-out night with friends of discriminating taste. this is where cebu's elite will party.

located on the second floor of tinderbox at banilad road in cebu city, morals is an all-day lounge while the malice bar is open daily from 7 pm onwards.

it's one of the most chic resto bars i've been. i highly recommend it if you want to chill and unwind after office hours. they offer wide selection of liquors and their food is just okay. i love how neat and professional their servers look.

youre in for a treat! a great place to chill and relax. food is quite exceptional as well. tho quite pricey, it's still worth every penny! :)
