mooshka

a bit disappointing.. we have been to mooska a couple of times and each time have been very disappointed. the whole place feels like it needs agoodclean and air out and the food is overpriced and somewhat tasteless. the staff are very friendly if a little slow(we waited about 15 for any service) but we will try again in the hope it gets better. fingers crossed.

popped in for an afternoon beer and some of the fish tacos.goodstuff. nice and fresh tasting. no nasty texmex. new management staff super friendly and welcoming. hope everything goes well for them.

stumbled upon this place after doing some gumtree buying. it appeared popular with the locals, had some groovy beats playing and had a nice unpretentious vibe. the waiter was a little awkward but friendly and our pepperoni and anchovy pizza was very yummy with agoodbalance of flavours. the only thing i would improve with the pizza was the base (only if i had to pick something to fault). the food on the other tables looked great and the menu prices seemed very reasonable. overall we really enjoyed it and would happily recommend for casual dining

a family fave this place is the one of the daily staples of your trip to sunshine beach. not flashy but reallygoodquality and family friendly. from kids burgers to greek salads, great calamari, beautiful fresh fish soft shell tacos....

allgood- best choice if you are staying at sunshine beach. the menu works for kids and adults. the service isgoodwith a smile - no complaints from a fussy melbournian

the location sells itself, but it's loosing any reason to go there.

i have dined at mooshka over number of years, and have to say that while the ambience is good,  of late the food portions leave a lot to be desired. flavour is good, but really disappointing to get such tiny portions.
the specials, particularly local barramundi dukka was entree size at best, (3 orders and all tiny) 

for the money it's not worth dining there unless you are taking advantage of the $5.00 taco's on a tuesday night, and only the pork and chicken. the fish is all batter and no content. (i haven't done the monday pizza specials)

funky cafe with a great vibe,goodservice from attentive staff and tasty food. focus is on pizza, they are many and varied, crispy base and plenty of toppings. having a pizza oven also means nachos are well cooked - there is something about the almost burnt crispy edges on agoodplate of nachos that i like. they have a number of specials each day
 and i had the goan style seafood curry which was delicious. prawns, scallops, mussels, white fish. calamari in a creamy coconut sauce with rice and poppadoms on the side.

nice tacos. ate as a group of ten in the corner of this eclectic room. the bench seats along the wall were too high for the table, and quite uncomfortable despite the abundant scatter cushions. agoodselection of beer was available and brought out promptly, however the wine list looked a bit low quality. i didn't dare try a cocktail, just had the feeling it wouldn't be great...

food was very food. had the pork belly pizza and pork tacos to share and hand cut chips. pizza base was a let down, but the topping delicious, and it was quite small. the taco had the same pork, but with different condiments, so was enough of a contrast and very tasty. hand cut chips were good, but could've been crunchier.

children's meals here seem a bit of an afterthought. we were told the chicken and chips, which incidentally came with a nice slaw, would be a crumbed chicken breast - it was not. it was chicken strips made of compressed chicken in a factory with fake chicken flavour, then deep fried. unimpressive. the calamari was also a factory sourced affair. i personally expect children's meals to be small serves of quality food, not a pile of deep fried crap.

then had the chocolate brownie for dessert, which was good, but no better than i could make myself.

really reallygoodpizza. we ordered two different days the pork belly one, and they were constantly amazing. staff is very friendly and very worried with making of this place a nice environment. i'd be back as many times as life allows me to do so.

good food. been here a lot during the day. now first time for dinner. peppered steak cooked to perfection. a great place, very popular.
don't come here if you are in a hurry. this place is for relaxing, enjoying the ambiance, verygoodfood and nice friendly staff.
highly recommended. a different ambiance. excellent specials at certain times.

was excited about dining here tonight, when we arrived the place was full, waitress was friendly, the place was buzzing! sat down and ordered 2 starters and a main each as well as drinks. lots of variety on the menu and all dishes sounded delicious. drinks came quickly enough but my soy chai latte came as a normal milk chai latte. that was fine though, it was swapped with an apology and understandable as it was so busy with only 2 waitresses to serve many people. then we waited for about 30-40 minutes for the starters to arrive. it truly felt like forever. when they did arrive, i was impressed, the food was delicious. after the starters we waited another 10-15 mins for the mains to arrive, when they did come, again we were all impressed by the presentation, the quality and the taste of the food. as our bellies were filled with the delicious food we thought we could forgive the long wait and the little mistake and call this an excellent restaurant to recommend to others, but when we got the bill we realised we were charged a lot more than what should have been right. when we asked to check the bill, we were told rather curtly that it seemed like agoodprice already for starters, mains and drinks, and it seemed like we were a nuisance for wanting to check. if an honest mistake, it was still forgive able, but with that comment our impression changed instantly. turns out we were charged $40 more. apology was given but we just wanted to leave. it was too bad because the food was truly excellent. perhaps friday night isn't the best time to go.

sogoodwe went there twice!. had a delicious lunch at mooshka - the falafel wrap was really good. tasty drinks the second time, and a great atmosphere.

funky but disappointing. we had lunch at mooshka on one of our long walks from noosa, accross the national park and along sunshine beach. we had eaten there in other years on similar walks and really liked the food. this year it was not as good. it was ok but missed the sparkle of other years. we shared the "mooshka" salad that was supposed to have pine nuts. i think there was only one pine nut! the rest of the salad was fine. we also shared a vegetarian pizza. the tast wasgoodbut there was almost no food on the nice crust. apart from paying for minimal food, we felt hungry and almost insulted at the lack of real food on it. surely veggies are cheap enough to put some more on top. staff were fine and polite. we will be back in sunshine beach next year and hope they give better value on their pizzas.
