montage

food was good but that's about it. wait staff were like robots with tattoos that had zero interest in patrons. probably not their fault as they have to get us in and out as fast as possible. i'd recommend montage for a good late night meal but go somewhere else early evening.

a late night staple. just a great place to go at the end of a night out. rather than go to other places for chicken fingers and cheese fries, you can have a proper meal. communal tables are also a nice change, and can make things interesting when other barflies come rolling in.

fight the bedspins!. the one and only place to go at 2.30am to get some comfort food to soak up all the alcohol. perfect place to bring your out of town friends to.

epic. cajun mac & cheese at 3am? yes, please.

also, i have to give these guys props for having such a huge spectrum of a wine list. great bordeaux and night train on the same menu?! genius.

plan on making some new friends since the entire restaurant is long picnic tables with community seating.

under the dripping morrison bridge. where pasta supercollides with meat or cheese of your choosing. poor boy's to feed a hungry bum. a kitchen appearance to rival a chinese restaurant bathroom. montage is not to be missed.

start with lunch and let your ambitions down and come back for dinner late....very late and experience shaped foil leftovers

good prices for cajun food at this perennial favorite. great drink menu for those of us remembering bourbon street. had the montage which was a sample of 3-foods. oyster shooters were better than those in nola. parking not easy on this area.

le bistro montage has a great atmosphere, full of energy. service was friendly and attentive. appealing and extensive cajun menu however personally found the jambalaya to be extremely salty.

talk about a disappointing meal!  this was some of the worst cajun food i have ever had and unfortunately, the rest of our group agreed.  all had very different dishes but none that stood out to any of us.  not sure what the draw is to this place.

a disappointment! the menus looked great and the reviews were positive but our experience was just very average.  the service, while prompt, was cold and not friendly generally giving the impression that our server would much rather have been somewhere else rather than helping us.  the food, while plentiful, was very average.  i had the fried chicken which was hot and tender but not tasty at all.  we also had the chicken friend steak which was just ok but nothing special.  the much vaunted cornmeal muffins were dry and tasted like they had come from a box and the salad, while again very large, was bland.  overall, average is the best word to describe our experience here.  oh, and finally, like so many portland restaurants in the winter, it was very cold with many of the diners not even taking off their winter coats and hats while eating.

our 6 hour drive down from vancouver, bc to portland turned into a 9 hour trip due to a major accident on the i5 as well as numerous traffic snarl-ups. since we wanted to get some shopping done, we decided to stop off for some dinner first. we were originally going to try screen door but it was so busy that we wound up at le bistro montage instead.

really enjoyed my dining experience sitting at the bar and watching the kitchen activity. the energy was lively, the venue interesting, the cajun/creole food was delicious and the cocktail and wine list was good. the crawfish ettoufee was spicy and delicious. the andouille jambalaya was filled with okra and the pesto macaroni and cheese was so creamy. the leftovers got wrapped in aluminum foil creatures. we got a mouse and a snail. what a great touch! the gooey butter cake was also good. our server was really fun and helpful. many of the tables were long and communal. i will definitely be returning to try other options.

food was excellent. the lighting and setting is great. went on a saturday date night and had a lot of fun. however, i wish the staff had been more attentive. we had to wait a long time to have a waiter come check on us.

i honestly don't know why people like this place so much. the food isn't terrible but all of it is stuff i can easily make at home. and it's a hit or miss whether the food is good. i've been here a couple of times and sometimes my meal is under seasoned, over seasoned, dry not dry. really inconsistent. not really worth it. a good place when it's late because not a lots open but don't go here during the day time - try other iconic places in portland
