mojos texmex smokehouse and grill

i’ve been coming to mojos for a few months and i must say the food is pleasing to the palate. made to order with a small dining that makes you feel at home for either day after day visits or the occasional grab and go.
that is where unfortunately the bolstering comes to a halt.
whoever is in charge of the staff for this location needs to seriously look at what they have or better who they have working for them. i should say “working” lightly because there is some serious issues or entitlement and disfunction going on here. now i can’t unfairly say this is everyone. i have as i said been coming here for months so i’ve had time to speak with most everyone at varying shifts. that being said there are some of them that prefer to treat you like you’re stupid and give you looks like you’re a complete inconvenience or ignore you which is my favorite. none tend to give off the vibe that you’re unwanted quite like molly, whom i’m not sure if she’s the manager or just takes on the title because the name of the establishment starts with the same letter as her name. someone needs to inform her that the attitude isn’t something that wins repeat business. now i understand everyone has a bad day but she always has a chip on her shoulder which could be from what looks to be a possible drug problem. i’m only partially kidding. there has just been some rather dramatic appearance changes in a few staff members that would certainly leave you wondering. but how this little girl has gone under the radar of mojos management is crazy because she is prob the biggest turnoff for a visit to this little gem.
as i said not everyone gives the same experience. christina in the mornings is energetic and always happy to greet you and if you stop in for supper in the evening brittany is probably one of the sweetest people and will go above and beyond to make sure you enjoy your time spent. both of these ladies should be what the mojos owners or whoever sits at the head of their hiring operation strive to duplicate. there are numerous kids that work amongst the bunch and some have came and went but all generally being a pretty fun bunch.
if you are looking for entertaining staff and more personal experience i’d suggest stopping in for an evening visit because the vibe is more catered to making you feel special.
now back to the reason for this quite long review.
when it’s roughly 2 in the afternoon and you have a line in the drive thru out to the street and your lobby is full and the line is building on a saturday where the weather is nice. you’d think that the general idea would be to help the customers but instead you see a few pour out of the back and think “oh good they’re going to get us moved through quickly”. wrong. you see 3 of them just dart out as if there wasn’t any importance to the people waiting. they all hop into one vehicle and one runs back in goes to the restroom for an instant and comes back out for what i’m assuming must have been something left that they remembered and didn’t want left behind not to seem judgy but that certainly didn’t and doesn’t help with the opinion . then not looking at anyone or thinking they should help,they leave.
this is not the first time this has taken place where customers and their time is completely ignored. sometimes they’ll just be seated at a table watching their fellow mojonians drown in the crowd of eagerly waiting customers whilst having a smug look on their face as if it’s funny that they aren’t doing anything and the others are working double. obviously this isn’t ruth’s chris and i don’t expect the same thing from them but i see a place that could easily be a long time favorite of many being brought down by a toxic employee and attitude being spread by said employee. i will be unfortunately calling my engagements with the establishment for the foreseeable future as i hope that maybe if enough people do the right people with their company will take note and make changes.
my suggestion to anyone wanting their tasty creations is maybe try the drive thru or go in the evening because the night crew is usually funny and want you to be there.

wife and i love mojo's.. heard a complaint or two about the price..well, if you want cheap, whattaburger next door has taquitos. i think it is very reasonable because, each breakfast taco is made to order and very good. for lunch or dinner, wife always gets chicken nacho's, very good.. i have eaten several different things there. meat is nice and smoky..add ons are always fresh.. not noisy like i35 restaurant row places.. going there in a few minutes for breakfast!

might be the best tacos i ever had! these aren't your tiny boutiquey expensive trendy tacos you often see panned in the foodie community. these are texas tacos, as god intended.
on your order, they take fresh balls of dough and smash them on a griddle for freshly made tortillas. select from house smoked brisket, very good for texas pulled pork, smoked chicken, or grilled steak. i always get the pork and brisket, need to try the other two. a generous helping of meat is placed on the tortilla, then you select from a wide array of very fresh toppings, salsas, and house made sauces like ranchacado. my usual go to is the pulled pork with pico, hot salsa, cheese, jalapeño ranch and mojo sauce. it is perfection, as is the brisket with pico, the tasty queso, and green chile sauce. plus you get a lagniappe of some nice thin chips and a very good cookie.
you can also get the stuff in a burrito or a bowl or nachos. bravo to the owners; they have created a great little jointthey should be proud of.
my only issue is they close at 8pm and i don't live in burleson. if i did i would eat there at least once a week.

fixed reviews?. i submitted an unfavorable and forthright review, but it no longer appears. did the owner delete? is this site rigged?

in my visit i had the steak bowl. the meat was plentiful and very good. except for the meat and medium salsa, which was also very good, the food was fairly short on flavor. the chips for me were over salted. still, i do recommend for a first visit.

great food!. granted we walked in a little before 12 noon, but this place had a line for the 45 minutes or so we were there. i choose the chicken "bowl"- great food, mild salsa was just right- not bland, but not blazing either.
i'll be back!

oh yes!!. everything about this place is great! the food is fresh and always good on taste. love the sauces (7 to choose from) breakfast burrito's are awesome. staff is always friendly and upbeat. owner is a great manager. will definitely be coming back here again! atmosphere is one for families.

good food, needs better cashier. i came to this establishment for the first time and went through the line and got my food with no issues. but the female that was running the cash register double charged me, so instead of a 8 or 9 dollar charge it was 18 if i remember correctly. my mistake was i had already handed my card over for the transaction and she had ran it for $18.xx, she did not seem to notice that $18.xx was high for 1 person's 3 soft tacos and a drink. so i asked if she was sure thats how much it should be once i got my reciept back, (thinking maybe i just heard her wrong). so she noticed her mistake and corrected the charge and proceeded to charge me again. this time the correct amount. however, did not attempt to refund the previous wrong charge. so then i asked if i was getting a refund and thats when the manager/owner (bald guy) took over. normally, i would not post a review of just 1 incident but the very next visit. i went through the line again with my food, no problem, and this time a female cashier(possibly the same one) ran my card and said it was declined. in fact it was not declined since i knew exactly how much cash was on my debit card and the reciept even said something to the fact that the card machine was offline. or had lost connection. i had asked her to run it again knowing my card was not the problem. same thing. so i blatantly told her that the reciept just says the machine is not connected. so once again the manage had to step in. all it took was reading what was on the display. .... i'm ok with things going wrong with equiptment but not when employees arent trained to do their job or dont have enough sense. other than that , the food is great. i have been back but very cautious on who is running the register that day.

i love this joint! mojo's is a welcomed twist on perfectly smoked meats. it's not huge, and that's part of its appeal. you gotta try it. by the way, the red chili sauce is good.

great food. i had the brisket burrito and was surprised. the brisket had a smoky flavor like it had smoked a while it definitely was a great burrito. in the grand scheme of things it was less than 10 bucks to eat i will give it 4 stars

went to mojo's for dinner with a group of friends and it was great..service..food. and price.. will be back..

awesome. ok so i went to mojos the first time this morning to try it out..so being my first time i ordered something i new i would like (bacon eggs and cheese burrito) with mild hot sauce .the burrito was 2.50 seemed a little expensive but i was like ok let me have it! so i get home with the burrito ( it was a big burrito but i would say only worth $2 bucks..anyways i unwrap it and it was still very warm and i open the hot sauce at first look at the hot sauce i thought great they just use canned salsa:( then i take a bite of the burrito with no salsa and it was very tasty had a nice flavor and the bacon had a smoky taste to it then i tried it with the salsa and to my surprise it was very good the salsa was rich and a little garlicky i would give this place 4 stars and will be going back to try other stuff...if i had to complain about anything it would be the price is a little high for what you get

the brisket was delicious. the pulled pork was tender and juicy. yummy yummy yummy!
