awful, awful, awful! i don't know what all the hype is about. . . side salad soggy & drenched in dressing, crab cakes burnt, and the service - what service? the server did not do a quality check and was scarce so i couldn't even express my dissatisfaction. the crab cakes were literally black! how could the cook (obviously not a chef) let them leave the kitchen and how could the server put them in front of me with a straight face! probably explains why it was a rapid drop & why she didn't come back. that was my first & last time there!

it was wonderful. they have a rotating brunch menu every week which keeps this place exciting, and as for the meals we got, outstanding. my fluffy scrambled eggs with potato hash casserole was delicious. my wife's omelette was fresh and so carefully thought out. i loved this place. i had high expectations too and this place met them. great brunch spot. will visit again.

service was extremely kind too considering how busy it was.

the brunch menu is beautiful in its simplicity, a dream of operational efficiency and i was more than pleased with the selection. i'm pleased that there was one price for all 5 options ($14) but disappointed that you still have to add the price of tea or coffee on top of your meal... i appreciated that each of the 5 brunch specials provided decent sized portions, were artistically put together, and came out hot and quick.

overall, mitzi’s cafe is a beautiful place to relax and enjoy a good cup of coffee. their team of servers and chefs, make delicious food porn, quickly without rushing you to eat and go. overall, mitzi’s might’ve done better to offer some oj or fruit juice options but for breakfast, they made an incredible meal.

this is an awesome brunch spot in my neighbourhood. i've never had a bad meal here. the food is always made from fresh local ingredients and the dishes are super creative and delicious.
expect long waits during peak hours and also since it's quite small, you will smell like what you ate since you're practically dining in the kitchen. the service is also super friendly.
if you're in the area, i highly recommend you give this place a try!

um okay well, this was my second choice (key word: second). a spit within a neighbourhood - just randomly in between houses what?!! why?! who approved this and why? it did look a little cute though.  sadly, i ate half of my oatmeal pancakes with seasoned potatoes - my savoury potatoes was hugging the sugary syrup for my pancakes. if i want to have pancakes, i want the good kind- not oatmeal. service was horrible. hot chocolate was horrible. lets just say, ughs!

the food was over priced for the quality served. whipped cream from a can and eggs out of a premix box. we ordered french toast and pancakes for $14 per dish and it definitely didn't stand up to our expectations.
the service was slow and non professional. we asked them to change the pancakes because the we're cold ( after waiting for more than 15 mins for butter) and the resistance was very obvious in her tone of voice, although the server did finally change it. all together this first visit has convinced me not to go back, ever again.

yay, brunch! i'm open to a place that has a constantly-changing menu, but it might be a barrier to folks with dietary restrictions. the day we went, the daily poach was a three mushroom bruschetta with parmesan cheddar thyme sauce. i wanted to eat it forever. cute location!

...the french toast, and the soup. both were yummy, and were devoured quickly! i had the poached eggs on dahl...i love well-done curries, and this was a really good curry. thanks for making indian flavours work at brunch, mitzi!

great cafe! you can't go wrong with the poach. while my partner had that, i opted for the omelet. fabulous! i'd like to see them using a heat lamp because at times by the time the food reaches you it's not as hot as i'd like it. non the less i am so grateful to have this cafe in my neighborhood.

cold food, didn't like. i went to try mitzi's as i had heard alot of things about it but i was very disappointed. i ordered one of the egg scramble concoctions but got mushrooms in mine even though the menu did not list them in it, and all of the food on my plate was cold. the toast was rock hard so you could eat only part of it

my first time at mitzi’s. it had been on my wishlist for a long time. it seems to be on all these best-brunch-in-toronto lists. husband and i each ordered the oatmeal pancake, fruit and potatoes for $13.95. it was a very sad looking plate. i mean, three pieces of nasty burnt potatoes, come on! sometimes you have to ignore the hype and rave reviews. no desire to go back to mitzi’s. web: http://www.mitziscafe.com/ twitter: https://twitter.com/mitzis_cafe about these ads div.wpa>div { margin-top: 1em; } share this: email twitter facebook digg reddit google +1

love this place. even though the menu changes from time to time the food is always amazing. had the omelette today which was filled with colombian chorizo, arugula and goad cheese and was it was incredible. decent portions and well priced. it's always busy there so you may have to wait for a table but its certainly worth the wait.

awesome!!. i ate at mitzi's and it was awesome. a couple of friends joined me. i had the pancake which was oatmeal and butter milk. it was awesome. the topping change each week. this week was vanilla cream and skor bar.

my friends had scrambled eggs and one had a poached egg on a homemade biscuit. it was good.

home made potatoes (i need that recipe) fresh juice and good coffee (hard to find in the city).

awesome place. i highly recommend it.

awesome breakie. this place is everything a breakfast joint should be. great location, tucked away on a quiet corner in roncesvalles. an eclectic mix of vintage table and chairs you'd remember from your grandmas house that are inviting, cozy, and make a great addition to the ambience of a local cafe. breakie was a good sized portion, i had special which included poached eggs on chili, home fries (delicious), and sourdough bread (or rye). with a small fruit bite on the side for about ten bucks. all in all was exactly what i wanted for a chilled morning eat. mind you, this was a monday, and the place was almost at capacity.... i'd imagine wknds are quite busy.

next time i'm in the area for breakie, this place will be at the top of my list!

the restaurant is known by most as a great local bar with a colourful mix of local music talent performing throughout the week. pub fare includes the typical burgers, wings, fries and salads.
