good food, cool location.. food was excellent, but had to wait forever for a table. service was sub par. went in at the end of lunch rush so i cut them a little slack. would give it another chance.

fantastic addition to downtown.... ... with all of the unfortunate parking issues. but the food and venue are stellar with excellent traditional deli sandwich offerings and pizza 51 slices and pies. they also have an outstanding (small) craft beer selection.

highly, highly recommend a stop no matter how hard it is to park.

nice little place with friendly helpful staff. the calzone i had was one of the best i've ever ate. also tried the garlic bread, it had a great crust but the garlic spread wasn't really to my taste. every time i visit kc this place will be a must stop.

i was looking forward to eating there after hearing good reviews. had dinner there last night and was very disappointed. service was terrible, they were not busy either. waitress seemed annoyed to be working. food was mediocre.

this is a cool little place. i got the roast beef sandwich with carmelized onion jam. part of the jam was horseradish i think, and it definitely opened up my sinuses. people i ate with got the milwaukee reuben which they said really had some suprising heat to it. food came out slowly. other than that i liked this place.

the pizza is to die for! very cool place with even cooler people. i try to go here whenever possible. they also have a good sized bar which is always a plus.

excellent food, even better hospitality!. as out of town fans in for the big 12 basketball tournament (will not share which team, to protect the innocent...), we did not expect such a royal(s) treatment. pizza was divine and the rueben was true to the milwaukee tradition (we know, as we live near there). atmosphere was distinctive and interesting, patrons were welcoming and sociable, and best of all, the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff was as good as we have ever experienced as "first-timers". so glad we discovered this gem on friday, and returned on saturday. many thanks joel, sam and mike!! we look forward to a return visit this summer...

located in the historic cosby hotel on the corner of 9th and baltimore, this little joint is a homage to the original milwaukee delicatessen company housed in the same location over 75 years ago. speaking of – check out the image above. it depicts the first post-prohibition beer delivery, complete with clydesdales and wooden crates of budweiser.

thrilled to see a new go to place pop up downtown. the atmosphere is fantastic, good selection of craft beers. i got the turkey panini which was superb-hot, savory, with a fantastic flavor. i would pass on the side of potato salad though, potatoes were partially cooked russet with the skin on in some type of a italian dressing-like sauce. i will come back for the reuben!

a welcome addition. mdc serves house-cured and smoked meats, house-pickled vegetables, craft beers, and a full bar in a wonderfully-restored historic building. i tried mdc on its third day open and can't wait to return. the reuben was great. unlike the usual thousand island dressing, mdc uses a grainy mustard that goes well with its corned beef and kraut and melted swiss. the rye was dense and chewy, a good match for the sandwich. as a side i tried the broccoli cheddar soup. what a treat on a cold day. lots of fresh broccoli in a deep cheddar base.
