bacalao - special of the day!. okay, hear me out people. back in brooklyn, my mom, doña aida, was known for her caring and open house. what she is best remembered for is her excellent puerto rican cuisine. in millie's cafe, i have found the great taste and enjoyment of my mother's cooking. doña millie is a great chef. she cooks from the heart. i know because food like hers can only be cooked from love and pride to satisfy. friday's special was bacalao (codfish) with boiled roots, (yuca, guineo, etc.) . i also sampled her alcapurrias, pastelillos, and rellenos de papas. you have to go to millie's! every dish i've eatened has brought joy and satisfaction. millie's menu, never fails to delight my palate and my budget$. ¡ buen aprovecho!

tastes of authentic puerto rican food. a fantastic tastes of every plate, special arroz con gandulez its taste like they do grandma from the kitchen. i am from puerto rico,i certified is great place for eat. great service and attendant people.

pernil. this is roasted pork and it tastes delicious. for only 6.50 (only cash) you get the pork with arroz con gandules. on my way to get some now, the mofongo is delicious too. i'm cuban and puerto rican from florida and let me tell you this place is as authentic as it gets! i would go crazy here in the desert if it wasn't for millies!!

very authentic, excellent service and amazing food. good portions. they don't accept credit/debit cards which is a bit of a problem. besides that, great home-style puerto rican food.

big charm, big food. i am from the east coast and am used to seeing pr food around every corner. i came to arizona and was in a culture shock. i googled and googled and came across millie's. her hours are limited, so make sure you know they are open first! they restaurant is very basic and she creates her menu every day which you can choose from two specials. the food is amazing, quick and the portions are great. not to mention, my friends and i ate with sides and the bill was less than $20.00 i definitely recommend this place!

haven't tried it yet. but just the fact that she is in arizona i am so excited to go and try it out my pr friend told me about it and i am so excited to go and so hungry right now just wish she was closer, but i don't care i will drive 40 minutes to my pr food,and will recommend to anyone

a rare find. the passion for food emminates from the smells outside to the smiles at the couter. the restraunt is filled with smiling faces as music rings out. i have never been to puerto rico but if millies is a small sample i have definately missed out and am happy to have a taste right here in mesa az
