milano's italian restaurant

best italian in the rgv.. so far.... i have had better italian food elsewhere but milano's seems to be the best we have tried in the rgv. i enjoyed my plate of lasagna, but my wife had the penne pasta with meat sauce, which wasn't nearly as good. the bread they bring out as appetizer is very good, and if you ask, they will provide olive oil. garlic, and balsamic vinegar, free of charge, which makes it even better! plus, they will bring you as much bread as you like. the minestrone soup was more of a vegetable soup and the salad was just okay, nothing special.
for dessert we split a slice of angela's cheesecake which was also pretty good stuff. it is different than regular new york style cheesecake. it has a layer of a pudding or custard on it with shredded coconut.
service was excellent!

what a letdown. i had shrimp in a shrimp plate that still had a few legs. the pasta was not fresh, it was out of a box. for the price they charge fresh pasta would have been much better. my advice, skip this place. i had better italian food in alice, tx that did have fresh homemade pasta.

a hit or a miss depends when you go.. this place is a hit or miss.. either you absolutely love it because of it's family restaurant that takes care of you like a drop of a dime... or it can be disastrous due to overbookings. they should really setup a wine bar in the front where they serve coffee on nights when they have more guests waiting than tables \ servers. this would calm down the folks that think they deserve a table right away. i've been there when they were hosting a wedding reception and it seem like the whole staff was walking around with their heads cut off... the side that they put the party didn't have a reception area so the party all hung around the tables while the staff was trying to execute putting the 1st course on the table. this shouldn't seem bad but the only thing separating the large loud party was a piece of cheap curtain. which all the noise bleed thru to the other guests. my take is show up early because the early bird gets the worm (worm = best service)

i was really looking forward to a delicious dinner here. we drove 45 minutes just to try it out. i read the bad reviews but chose to give it a shot anyway. won't go there again! unfortunately we didn't even get to be seated. because they only had 2 waiters available, they had a ridiculous wait time. we were a party of two and it was impossible to accommodate us. i'm truly disappointed.

best italian food in the valley!!!. i've lived in the rgv all my life and had never been to milano's until a few weeks ago. we liked it so much we went again a few days ago. it was super delicious!! everything was perfect. from the calamari to the tiramisu. i had to try my dinner company's dishes as well. and i have to say everything tasted delicious. highly recommend this place for it's food, service, and ambience. enjoy!

best meal of my entire life!!!. i had the pleasure of having dinner at milano's. it is more expensive than most restaurants i frequent, but the food, servers, and atmosphere make it worth every penny and then some!!! on a 5 star scale, i would rate it a 10! i'm from minnesota and the thing i look forward to most when i go to texas is dinner at milano's. all of their food is fabulous, but the tiramitsu is to die for! if you're looking for a nice, romantic dinner, i would highly recommend milano's. enjoy!

excellent, excellent food. quail very tasty... spaghetti taste fresh ( not mushy)- bread is excellent. this is easily hands down my favorite restaurant, thank you for staying open after mr. milano's passing.

anniversary. my partner and i went here for our anniversary. it is a very nice place. great atmosphere and nice music. we had a great waitress and it was excellent service. we had calamari and it was impeccable. we both had house favorites that were quite good. i highly recommend this place and yes it's pricey.

the best old world italian in the valley.

save you money this place is not worth the hype. chicken parm was basically frozen chicken nuggets covered with sauce and cheese. lasagna was definitely stouffers or some kind of frozen microwavable brand. the service and ambiance were the only good things about milanos. it must have gone downhill in recent years because i had heard good things about how the food used to be. so disappointed
