we popped in here for a quick supper his week.
it was buzzing inside and we had a fairly good meal. it's a very simple old school menu so perfect if you are in the mood for an old school classic. pretty limited range of pizzas but my margarita was good. mark had the ribs and calamari combo - both cooked very well and tasty! ribs were super tender and so was the calamari. chips were store bought and not great but the side salad was delicious.
good selection of wine by the glass.

a lovely setting. formal but also very relaxed. perfect for any occasion. food is great and so is the coffee. was a bit disappointed with the service. left my table alone for a good hour before asking if we want the bill and then that was a long process.

a place you can call home. the service is top notch and the food is not too shabby at all. will definitely make this a regular hang out for the family.

came here today for a take away and ended up changing it to a sit down. the service was excellent and so welcoming that i felt like a regular! had a tramezzini and a lovely coffee. i now understand why it's so popular!

what a delightful surprise! lovely, cosy eatery with excellent food and prices. every element of the meal added value to the dish: crisp salad, 1st rate fries, but especially their house mushroom sauce, which has some special ingredient i'm sure. the meat was done to a standard now sadly lacking in many cape town restaurants. though well positioned on a busy road, we were misled by the view from without for as long as i can remember, but now michael's is a firm favourite for us! kudos to the owners, chef and conscientious staff, led by their energetic manageress. wonderful decor and ambience too!

nothing irritates more when eating out than being taken for fools. we ordered design your own breakfasts with farmhouse bread. when we received our meal it was albany supermarket bread. upon questioning the waitress we were told that it is farmhouse bread! seriously who can not tell the difference btw mass production bread and farmhouse homemade loaves! fools your customers are not. and at r5 per slice....... also the cutlery is below par, we could not cut our albany toast with the knives. overall overpriced, many restaurants offer an inexpensive breakfast on the menu at an affordable price of no more than r35.00 which i might add is extremely substantial. we will not return. our breakfasts cost us r150 for 2 people and we left hungry.

had a really nice lunch at michael's this afternoon. i had the bbc burger but replaced the blue cheese with cheddar.

all 4 of our meals were really good. service was decent.

well definitely return, probably not at 2pm on a sunday though as they were starting to close up.

i like the way the restaurant has been redecorated - looks fresh and modern. the food was nicely presented and was tasty but not amazing. we got served fairly quickly when we arrived but then never saw our waitress again ..... i had ordered water and never got it and i wanted a second cappuccino and could not get that either ....... will give it a another try to see if we just had bad luck because i do like the vibe and it is close to home !
