pretty good. not the best food, but pretty darn good.

was it the pina colada, or was the fried ice cream that good?. mi ranchito is definitely better than some of the "legendary" mexican restaurants in the kansas city area. i had a pina colada for an appetizer as i searched through the menu for something that looked appealing that didn't include beans, onions, or some other surprise that would ultimately ruin the entree for me. (yes, i'm one of those picky eaters.) i decided on the steak fajitas and snacked on the wonderful chips and salsa until my meal arrived, sizzling like bacon in a frying pan. the steak was seasoned perfectly. the rice wasn't the best i've had, and i only had a few bites, but i wasn't there for rice. then there was dessert: fried ice cream, no, the best fried ice cream i've ever had. maybe it was the effects of the pina colada, which was also the best i've ever had, but i would go there just for the fried ice cream.

i was there at 1:30 on a sunday and it was crowded but there was no wait. i did feel a bit rushed by the wait staff.

loved it!. my husband and i went there just last night for the first time after reading the reviews on urban spoon. we went to the 81st and metcalf location and were very pleased with the amount of service we received. everyone there was extremely pleasant, especially our server!! we told him it was our first time and he brought us an appetizer on the house! we ordered the mi casa fagitas and the cream cheese enchiladas. both of which were delicious!!!! this was probably the best mexican food i've had in town! the entrees are reasonably priced and come in very large portions so there was plenty of leftovers. i really enjoyed the food, people and atmosphere! not to mention the drink specials!!

not the best mi ranchito. i've eaten at 3 locations now and do it fairly often. this most definitley is not the better of them. the 119th and 151st locations have much better food.

i'm a snob when it cones to mexican food. mi ranchito is awesome! great chips and salsa, and flavorful food. this place is on my radar to eat at not only with my family, but with my dinner group as well!

great food, like this location and 119th. love the fish and seafood dishes. great fresh ingredients, served fresh and not pre made and microwaved. sometimes there's too much goopy stuff on the plate but usually it's great food.

nice chips and salsa. we love the chips and salsa, the quick, friendly service and those cream cheese chicken enchiladas. while my husband is stuck on the enchiladas, i have sampled about half the menu and always come up slightly disappointed. the fish taco was very good too though, a recent find. it is not very authentic but if you like americanized mexican food the menu is unique and the food above average.

this mi ranchito restaurant is actually one of six in the area that have flavorful food said to be passed down through the centuries. i have heard the buzz about this mini franchise and the good food. i was curious and had to finally try it and sample it

get there early!. first visit was tonight...the food was wonderful...the margaritas are great.....but get there early or you will end up waiting for quite some time!
