dublin's metro cafe has been a fixture on south william street since 1996. this was my first visit, lured in by the all day brunch menu. it was very busy, yet not chaotically hectic. the friendly staff were quick to acknowledge me, offering a seat and menu until a table was free. once seated i was served quickly and my coffee came promptly. i had the mighty metro: sausages, bacon, egg, relish, toast etc. simple and done well, which is comforting in a market where "brunch" is often transformed into something unnecessarily complicated or exotic. there is a relaxed bistro style to metro and i would forward to returning.
