not impressed. i had the shrimp pad thai once before and it was amazing! i thought it was the best i ever had, so naturally i wanted to order again. my boyfriend and i tried ordering tonight and we were told that they weren't taking orders because they are so backed up. i am sorry, but if you want a business to succeed, you need to order more staff to accommodate your orders. obviously, this restaurant is popular, so it will get busy. i am not impressed and will not order here again.

i live less than 1 mile from this restaurant and have driven by meesai's thai kitchen many times a week. until today, i never stopped in...but today we wanted to try something different and we were not disappointed. meesai's was fantastic. allow me to explain - it isn't fine dining, but that is really about the décor. it is friendly and comfortable...but not fancy. but the food is terrific. we had the pad thai (outstanding), the pad nut (cashew - great) and the pineapple stir fry (wow). to start, we had the shrimp wraps and the spring rolls...both with homemade peanut sauce. both of the apps helped us realize what we were going to experience. i will be going back soon. this is better than the thai food at any of the other restaurants in london.

the food is great.. the service is terrible. i went for the first time with my family yesterday and was horrified at the service.

we waited 20 minutes at a dirty table for it to be cleaned. after the table was cleared and we were given menus, we waited another 20 minutes to order. it took 2 hours to get our food and the appetizers and meals came out one-by-one so i stared at people eating while i waited for my food. we were also told that because we didn't have reservations, all customers who had reservations would be taken care of first. we were made to feel inconvenient and as a consumer, i don't really understand that thought process... i mean really.. you had 8 tables full. as good as the food was, i will never go back due to the service.

i would recommend more waiting staff. i would also recommend that the kitchen delivers food at the same time. as good as the food is, terrible service will really hurt your company. from the reviews and from watching other customers yesterday, i am confident i am not alone in my review.

have been back four times now
the service is horrendous!!!
the two kids they have waiting tables have absolutely no idea what they are doing
the one waiter's favourite sentence is " i'm really sorry for the wait"
not to blame everything on them, the kitchen doesn't know if they are catering to take out or in house
after waiting for close to 55 minutes for our food i asked the one waiter what everyone in the restaurant had in common? no food!!!!
they have to get their act together!!
great food but terrible service and a totally disorganized kitchen that has no issues making you wait over an hour to get your first dish

best thai food in london. we've ordered ahead for pick up and dined in, both experiences were great, the food is delicious and in good portion. it does take some time to prepare, it's well worth it.

awesome food/ terrible service. we have had dinner here several times since it opened. honestly, the food is great, and you will not be disappointed with that. we usually do take out, and they typically warn you on the phone that the wait time is 45mins to 1 hour. every time we have ordered, the wait time actually ends up being around 1hour and 20 mins.
tonight we were told one hour, and it actually took exactly 2hours and 5 mins! when i finally got the food home, we were missing one order of pad thai, and my dinner was something completely different from what i ordered. the portions are a good size, so no one here went hungry.
my suggestion to meesai's: decide whether you are a take-out only restaurant, or an eat-in only restaurant. it is clear that you are not capable of doing both.

terrible/rude dont do take out. never tried the food as i never had the opportunity. was told take out was an hour wait, after an hour i showed up and was told it was not ready and would be another 20 minutes. during this brief 10 minutes i saw 4 people leave due to the take out time... moral is don't just stop by for take out.

after another 30 minutes came back for the original order... the owner chef comes out of the kitchen and explains its going to be a while longer... told him to forget it and without apology he went back into the kitchen. i don't really need to write more because with this service they will be out of business in no time.

ordered the red curry with coconut milk and peas. was very impressed with the dish, especially when compared to the other london thai places.

i've tried thai foon, thai house, bangkok thai, the highly rated mai's cafe and bistro and probably a few other ones (i work at the hospital so occasionally we deliver in thai food but i never bothered to really remember the name just cause it was average).

the problem with the other places was i found all their curries to be watery (they couldn't even bother to use corn starch as a thickener!) and frankly a little bland.

however i was impressed with this place because the red curry i ordered was very rich and sweet, and it was evident that they really used coconut milk. the green peas were nice and sweet which helped balance out the richness of the dish. i also liked how they used fresh basil cut into tiny strips and added in at the last minute to help add flavor without having it overcooked. my curry was not drowning in sauce (partially because it was thicker and clinging to meats and vegetables, unlike other places where it kinda just pools at the bottom...)

this was the only dish that i ordered so it's hard to say what the other dishes are like, but at the very least, i can highly recommend the red curry and hey, at $10, i will for sure be back to try the other dishes.

vey good food super slow service!. if you want good thai food this place is very good! if you have a group of eight be prepared to wait. the appetizers arrived two at a time and no one else's came out until the first ones were finished, then they brought two more and so on! dinner was served in the same fashion! my suggestion is, next time we eat their food, we will order take out or go as a smaller group!!!

great authentic thai in byron!. first visit with the new owners/chef tonight. the food was awesome. we ordered veg pad thai, veg summer rolls, and chicken tom khan soup ( #16). we asked for the soup to be 5/10 for spice and was perfect for us. we will definitely be back! our girls (age 14 mos and 2.5 ys) loved the pad thai.

little gem in byron. i've been here a handful of times since i found out it recently opened. i used to live in thailand for three years and can clearly say meesais thai kitchen is legit, authentic thai food. the owners are originally from thailand and are very warm and welcoming and make a mean pad thai. you must try the other traditional thai foods as well. excellent excellent excellent. will be going back again soon.

awesome addition to byron. i had the pad thai, summer rolls, and spring rolls. pad thai was offered at different spice levels - i ordered a '5' and it was just right. nice heat, great flavours and a generous portion. the summer rolls and spring rolls were good, but the sauces served with them were standouts. especially the coconut plum sauce served with the summer rolls - wow! will be back for sure.

best pad thai in town!. this restaurant is sure to become a gem in london's byron village and a destination restaurant for londoners. our host (and owner) was very welcoming and helpful to us in choosing from the menu. "herbivores" and "carnivores" will both find what they are looking for at meesai's. what we appreciated most was the freshness of all the ingredients and the blend of spices. try the chicken pad thai: my partner's son thought it was about the best he had ever tasted.the red curry vegetable soup was so full of vegetables in its delicious coconut milk broth it was a meal in itself. the pad puk stir fry with seasonal vegetables and mushrooms came with a sauce that was not heavy nor salty. we chose the vegetable/tofu selection (other options include chicken/beef/pork, or prawn). the kao pad puk, which is a vegetable fried rice selection was delicious, the rice was moist and the dish perfectly spiced. there are 45 items on the menu (appetizers, salads, main dishes and desserts). appetizers range in price from $3.55 for fresh summer rolls to $7.95 for battered calamari. salads are $6.95 (add $3.00 if you want chicken or beef and pork included). main dishes range from $7.95 - $12.95. excellent value for fresh and tasty food in a pleasant environment. it is open daily from 11:00am - 9:00pm. restaurant currently does not have a liquor licence but there are a variety of non-alcoholic beverages (including smoothies!). check it out, and spread the word about this little gem in the heart of byron.
