the staff are very nice and really do their best. they need more training however. as a beer lover, its nice when bar staff understand at least a little about beers. these guys know more about chai than beer.
the food is decent but costs double usa prices.
my advice is to get a westerner or two into run theplaceand train staff for a while. because theplacehas potential. but it's a pretty bad experience dining in there.

on 14-feb-2018 evening by 07:30 we (me, my wife & my daughter) had visited mcgettigan's fujairah for a dinner. it was so disappointing that literally, no one comes to ask to get a table and we were not attended up to 08:00 pm that means more than 30 min we were wondering around what's going on. we found aplaceand settle done even then also no one come to us, by 08:30 we felt embarrassed and decided to leave the place. we also noticed that one-two groups who came after us were at least given a menu (that means someone attended them). this was the first time in my life at a restaurant i had face such an embarrassed feeling. the staffs at mcgettigan's fujairah at the time we visited treated as invisible men, that's really strange. the management should look into this matters. anyway goodbye to mcgettigan's fujairah.

having heard so much about thisplacei went to have a look on a friday afternoon about 1pm, since it was close to our hotel. i was surprised to find theplaceempty, so i decided to grab a bite to take away and come back later. ordered the tempura soft shell crab, which was batter fried crispy goodness, that it didn't even make it past the parking.

the ambience of theplaceis nice, definitely theplaceto come with friends to chill.

a pleasant friday afternoon after a long drive from dubai to fujairah ended really well at this place. i have visited the mcgettigans at jlt. but this one was far more silent and peaceful. it is situated at the fujairah tennis and country club. it has a gorgeous swimming pool at the side. a beautifulplaceindeed to relax, with the mountains of fujairah as your view. i had with me an entertainment voucher a friend gave to me. the offer was - buy one main course and get another free. therefore we skipped the starters and jumped straight onto the main course. we had the pork bangers & mash; and the sampler platter.
the pork bangers were delicious, served with a wonderfully made potato mash with an onion gravy base. the mash was perfect. the pork bangers were absolutely delightful.
the sampler platter was great too. it had prawns - cooked to perfection, crispy onion rings, parmesan fries and my favorite of them all - hot wings. the wings were delicious. absolutely finger licking good. we had beer to go along with it.
a delightful afternoon indeed.
we missed the friday brunch. definitely want to go there again for the friday brunch by the pool.

greatplaceto hang out in fujairah, great collection of beers and whiskeys, warm staff, lovely music and great people to hang out with. completely different from what you are used to (warm people looking forward to interact) reminds you of the tv show "cheers!" bonus, its within the fujairah tennis and country club. so we got there early, enjoyed some sports, some swimming followed by some steam/sauna. finish things off with a cold one at mcgettingans. also loved the halloween party that they hosted with a lovely live band.

special thanks to the manager zahara for the great reception and actively introducing us to the staff and other members, made our visit really great!

have visited 3 - 4 times in the last 3 months .. very good ambience .. i just love sitting there for hours talking with my wife . deep selection of beers and bevs. very good ambience but for the loud music. music is very loud and inappropriate music ( too loud for conversations), long waiting time to order drinks or food. i will give 7/10 for this place.food is very very ordinary for the price charged ..
if they can increase the darkness  in the elevated deck and reduce the volume of the music at least at some area it will improve on the ambience. goodplaceto sit and relax on a weekend. a very laid back place.

concentrate on your food guys. this will be the "the hangout" of fujairah.
employ an indian chef who can do some kerala style beef chilli.

it's an irish pub and of course non halal place. but still we opted to dine since we saw they have the dishes on their menu that we usually eat like butter chicken curry which is served with rice & butter naan and chicken tikka wrap which has fries and salad. we seated on the end part of theplacewhere it's separated from the bar itself. it's nice ambience! pile of woods where customers can sign on it and the ceiling i like the design. #foodography zomato reviewer

the only thing better than a lazy friday brunch is a scenic drive leading up to it. it was great pleasure for us to experience that over the weekend for the zomato meetup at mcgettigan's fjr. special thanks to pallavi sangtani and tony matthews for making this happen, and happen really well.
one might normally associate this name to a lot of evenings that may have been spent at the bar in an attempt to unwind, but they've taken that up a notch with a fantastic food menu that we had the pleasure of tasting and reviewing.
the setup here is very nice and cosy. being a part of the tennis club it fits in perfectly giving it the typical sports bar presence. in my opinion though, theplacecould have been a little better lit up given it was daytime.
being a pub originally, expectedly the bar menu was quite extensive with its variety of drinks. having one of those days where i decided to stick to the basics, i opted for my absolute favourite beer - hoegaarden.
reviewing the food from the vegetarian side of the table i wouldn't say we had a lot of options to chose from but just about sufficient-
mozarella sticks - they were alright, something very basic that would take serious work to actually go wrong with.
stuffed jalapenos - this has to be the unanimous pick of the afternoon. the stuffed jalapenos were the only thing were ordered not once, but through 4 servings. the taste was just fantastic and would very very highly recommend.
goat cheese salad - indeed very fresh and crispy just how the salad should be. was quite delectable and defintely a good choice.
vegetable burger - the first impression i had looking at the burger when it was placed in front of me was that it was nothing but a clumsy eater's nightmare. so it isn't your usual bun and patty burger, instead comes with a lot of shredded veggies and tomato relish between the breads. it was good, something very interesting but i thought there was a little too much going on in there. my taste buds seemed to be quite confused with the entire combination. the burger is heavy and will definitely manage to fill you up.
moving on to everybody's favourite part of the meal - desserts!
again, there was one winner for all - the sticky toffee pudding. it is the absolute perfect way to wrap up an amazing meal. special mention for the apple crumble which came in second after the pudding in terms of preference.
unfortunately i didn't quite like the batter fried ice cream, it just came around to being quite messy and the taste wasn't its saving grace either.

also, special mention to the woodlog setup around the place, where you can leave behind a small part of your wonderful memories you create over a great afternoon. it just quite warming to see so many happy experiences penned down there.

overall it was a great experience and a perfect lazy and relaxing getaway from our usual manic schedules. special thanks to the team for their wonderful service and the management for the cookie and chocolate gifts.

will definitely be back here soon!

mcgettigans located within the premises of the tennis club, fujairah is the perfectplacefor pub grub. theplaceis an irish pub serving excellent food and drinks.
i was recently invited there courtesy zomato along with other foodies for lunch.
theplacehas a relaxed ambiance with dim lighting and spacious seating.
the menu has quite a few choices including pork which us rare in the uae and the drinks menu is exhaustive. i started off with the ever delicious jalapeño poppers and mozzarella sticks followed by a side dish of soft shell tempura crabs which were delicious and crispy. for mains i had the chargrilled rib eye steak medium rare which came perfectly cooked with fries on the side and finished off with some excellent toffee pudding with ice cream. apart for these the wagyu beef chili and fish and chips were also excellent which i tried from the rest of our foodie group.
among the drinks the nutty irish drink is a must try and they have an excellent selection of beers too.
greatplaceto chill out. definitely recommend.

review based on vegetarian food & drinks.
i was already impressed from this irish bar cum restaurant mcgettigans when i visited it in trade centre area. but it was long back last year , i had no idea that this is quite a big chain with so many outlets all over the uae, the time i got an invitation mail from zomato for thisplaceon a weekend, my hunger pangs started. but when i realized its in beautiful city of fujairah, which i heard a lot but not visited, i got excited and decided to go for a family outing and booked a resort there. #zomatomeetup gave us a reason for good family holiday as well far from dubai.

when we started our journey we wished it could never end, beautiful views of mountains and white & red sand dunes and an amazing road with speed of 120 plus, after reaching there i found that  mcgettigans is located in a tennis club in fujairah.

after entering mcgettigans the wonderful environment made me smile, met rest of the foodies and started our wonderful journey of #barfood .live music setup the mood already with wonderful environment all around.

tried bull frog as a starting drink with stuffed jalapeno which was out of the world. did not like the mozzarella sticks some how, poppers could have been better if were on the menu. there were 3 veg foodies so we could share easily all these starters.

mushrooms on the toast were well marinated and deliciously cooked. saw my fellow foodies enjoying non veg food very well, especially heard lot of good comments on fish n chips. than finally came the main course- an amazing non comparable veg burger which for me actually gave me reason to give 4.5 or else i was stuck with 3-3.5 max. the veg burger dint had patties in it, the concept which i never tried , but the veggies inside were kept in a way that i never felt the need of a patty, it was juicy, filling and an amazing taste not to forget.
in deserts we tried sticky toffee pudding, apple pies, fried ice cream and a lemon tart. i liked sticky toffee the most followed by apple pie.
a lovely concept of wall made of wood pieces was seen there, where we wrote our comments/names to remember this wonderful afternoon. we were hosted by club manager sarah and gifted a lovely tennis club chocolate box made of cookies and also a tennis ball inside.

special thanks to pallavi sangtani and zomato as you guys made our day.pallavi sangtani the tezzy files the greasy spoon tony mathews zed khanzada megsblogged jatin babla sarah norris rahul karamchandani

surely one can tell from the name that mcgettigans is an irish pub; specializing in... you guessed it pub food. however not everyone would know that an hour and a half drive or there abouts from dubai, there is another mcgettigans located in a tennis and country club in the heart of fujairah. this is the setting of friday's lunch for the #zomatomeetup
the drive itself is gorgeous with sand dunes and mountainous views on clear roads which makes for a pleasant trip. upon arrival the tccf has ample parking spaces on site and multiple tennis courts should you be interested in playing.
like most mcgettigans the green theme runs strong throughout the venue and the first thing i fret about is the dim lighting situated at our table. i absolutely love the wood log feature wall which allows the patrons to leave their mark. a very simple but effective art installation. they also have a live singer which creates a nice ambiance for a lunch setting.
we start with a round of drinks whilst deciding on what to have for lunch. i opt for a starter of the chicken wings with a main of pork chops. whilst we wait for our mains, we are brought a variety of salads from the buffet to try, my favorites being the coleslaw and beef salad.
i had drink envy when i saw the frozen strawberry margarita arrive so i decide to order one myself. piled high in a large cocktail glass with a sugar rim this icy treat nearly gave me a brain freeze.
we asked for our starters and mains to come together. bad idea as we limited table space. we all shared our starters between each other and we had a mix of mozarella cheese sticks (as chicken wings were out of stock) jalapeno poppers (delicious crunchy coated outside with a fiery filling, a favorite among our group) soft shell crab, which was nice but a little cold.
now onto the mains. i get excited when i see pork on any menu so when my main of two giant sized pork chops arrived i was over the moon. cooked and seasoned to perfection and super juicy tender meat it didn't need the addition of apple sauce or cabbage slaw but the combination went hand in hand. the over-sized twice cooked chips meant this was a super filling main.
once we finally got through all the savoury items out came dessert. apple pies, sticky toffee pudding, fried ice cream and a lemon tart. the sticky toffee was my personal favorite, super sweet but balanced out by the creaminess of the vanilla ice cream.
after lunch we were given a marker to leave our mark on the wood log wall. we then took a group photo before checking out the other facilities the tccf has to offer. so if you're ever in the area or are after a day trip away from dubai, then mcgettignans fjr is a goodplacefor a pub feed.
a big thank you to sarah for hosting our group and the tccf for the lovely cookie and chocolate boxes we received as a parting gift.
also thanks as always goes to pallavi sangtani because without you these events would never be possible.

mcgettigans being a massive franchise and upholding the reputation of highest esteem, definitely proved that being in a city of conditional resources and limited set standards, they continue to live up to their highest mark. in terms of location, if you’re not a regular here, finding theplacemay get tedious, but maps and gps do make your life easier, as for locals, the location is quite prominent and is highly renowned by regulars. the folks have a beautiful seating arrangement, be it having cocktail tables, or bar stools to be served next to the bar, or seating for large groups of up to 12, optimum for every size. their ambience and vibe really puts in a different shift, apart from the whole green aura of mcgs, of having a dim lighted, slightly funky yet subtle environment with tv plasmas all around projecting the best sports being aired live. adding a knack to their ambience, they have mini wood logs placed across an entire hall, where guests and visitors sign off their special notes and memories of the bar. the service is top notch; the staff is readily available to assist you, knows their menu inside out and is on point with their recommendations, although the speed of their service could reach out for better levels. their alcohol menu is superb, immense options of cocktails with your choice of liquor, and certain very intriguing specialties, the food menu also gives an exact same perception, with brilliant options of sides, starters and main options.

in terms of food, the jalapeno poppers are a stellar choice, even 3 rounds would not be enough along with your drinks, the mozzarella sticks are quite decent, but then again it takes certain talent to actually go wrong with mozzarella sticks. in terms of drinks, all the mocktails do a wonderful job but the nutty irish drink has to be quite innovative it reminds of you having cold coffee with ice cream but with a knack of relishing alcohol, although this could very easily pull of a brilliant dessert. the folks have limited vegetarian options, the goat cheese salad is as scrumptious as it looks can unlike most places if bound to leave you full. the vegetarian burger is again an experiment of zany proportions, the folks actually mastered to create a burger without a patty, usually the norm is generalized for non veggies, as there are handful patty replacement, but folks having carefully placed layers of vegetables, dominantly greens and eggplant, you’d never realize that there was never a patty! overall, when in fujeirah, mcgettigans is theplaceto be, and if not already in the city, a scenic drive all the way to fujeirah would be a perfect way to spend a long afternoon at mcgettigans.
