i'd go back.. good food, good service. not the 'to die for' place that some folks seem to think it is, but certainly a cut above the average restaurant. my only disappointment was the bread pudding. i expected an expertly executed bread pudding given the location and atmosphere, but it was marginal at best. spend your desert calorie budget on the ms mud pie instead.

john gresham was right. we have been to this restaurant and even detoured once from tampa to charlotte nc to take in this restaurant (amoung other attractions - i'm not that food crazy).

food is excellent and well prepared. atmosphere is typical of new oleans / mobile french. flavorful but delicate, a fine balance.

rather than the beau revage casino across the street with typical las vagas style, i prefer the quiter mary mahoney's.

there was a reason it appeared in two of john greshan's books and while i will admit i went to this restaurant out of curiosity because of these books, i would not hesitate to go again.

it's a shame.... it's such a shame that this is what locals would consider good food. maybe it's because there wasn't a lot of competition before casinos rolled in. locals are just accustomed to it now. i can remember back when mary was alive and the food was good, but unfortunately it's gone down since her son's taken over. one may be able to find a couple of good items on this menu, but for the most part, it's a bust.

never disappoints. outstanding food, service and atmosphere. me and my wife have tried almost everyting on the menu over the years and have yet to have anything that was not great. seafood, steaks, sandwiches and drinks are equally outstanding. this is a treat you do not want to miss.

i love it!!!. the food is amazing. it is pricey, but i think it is definitely worth it. mr. mahoney is a real character and i enjoy visiting his restaurant.

"there are three types of people in the world.
1. those that watch things happen
2. those that make things happen
3. and those that say "what the hell just happened?!!"

hilarious quote from mr. mahoney

qutie possibly the worst restaurant. i was with a large group of friends to celebrate two 25th birthdays. when we got there the waiters were to busy watching tv to even greet us and even when they did walk in the room they just stared at us. someone at the table had to ask them if we could get our drink orders taken (i have had better service from fast food restaurants). one of my friends had to ask for his drink three times before a waiter brought him one. with that start to the dinner i had a feeling it was going to be down hill from there. next was the appetizers, what a joke. almost everyone had the crab cakes, they were sitting on top of a cream sauce which looked as if it had been sitting out for a while because it was the consistency of chowder and not sauce. the taste did not make things any better, it was more cake than crab. then the salads came and not surprisingly the dressing is not made in house, tasted like a bad version of kraft. dinner was the last shred of hope i had of eating something worth the money i was about to cough up. i ordered the surf and turf which included a 6 oz filet and a lobster tail. this was the most depressing, the steak although being cooked to what i ordered was cold (not even luke warm). the lobster tail was tougher than the steak which i could not believe (i always believed that a restaurant could not manage to make something like lobster taste bad) and it was markedly tougher than the steak. after all of that the waiter figured out it was mine and my friends birthday so he offered a cheesecake and the miss mud pie ( i did not order any desert) so it comes out and we shared it with the table and wouldnt you know the desert was on my bill as if i ordered the desert. it just added insult to injury. by that point i just wanted to pay the bill and get out of the restaurant before i lost my mind. if you are even thinking about going to this terrible trap the hard rock has a ruth's chris steak house ( i would highly recommend eating there instead or even either of the hotel buffets located directly across the street from the dump that is mary and mahoney's) please save your dining experience before its too late!!!!!!!!!!!!

caroleigh. the service was excellent, as was the food. we went as a group of 15. everyone enjoyed their supper and most of us got the bread pudding which i found to be a little dry but that did not take away from the sauce! it's all in the sauce! a very nice evening on a cold and rainy december 17th , 2009 .

as you walk into this lovely home you get a fill of what things were like on the mississippi coast in the 1700s. this restaraunt has history built into the building. you get seated by a friendly and helpful wait staff and are given a menu that contains truly tasty dishes in print. all of this charm and beauty, however, falls to pieces upon the execution by the chef of the menu. i know the kitchen has to have a spice rack but the chef does not use it. this was the most bland seafood i have ever tasted. the food at your local waffle house has more flavor and doesn't run a quarter of the price. the only downfall of this restaraunt is a chef that cannot execute his menu. unfortunatley the chef and his food are kind of a major factor in the restaraunt business. i will personally never be accused of visiting this establishment again. ever.

biloxi favorite. we never visit biloxi without a lunch visit to mary mahoney's. skip the dining room, eat in the cafe. the lunch specials are just that, great food at a reasonable price.

ok so honestly... i would spend your money elsewhere. my steak was overcooked, that happens just dissappointing. my escargo was just not tasty. the was five escargo with spinach and shell pasta with a garlic worcesterrshire sauce(roux??) topped with parm. a bleu cheese dressing was bland bland on the salad. the bread pudding had too much rum (which usually is not a problem), but if it's battling vanilla bean . well i let's just say too much. let's put it like this after this food a 160 something dollar bill came and think the 24/7 grill at the hard rock for fifteen dollars beat the pants off of miss mary mahoney's.
