great portions and always expect a crowd. you get what you paid for. service isn't always exceptional but from my experience it's never terrible.

too much hype and bland food.. i have never understood the fuss about this place. it's raved about on tv food channels. the food is on par with o'charleys or ihop. the last time i was here with 2 friends, something disturbingly gross happened and the waitress and management brushed it off and didn't apologize, offer to comp our meal or anything. will never go back.

great experience. come hungry and bring friends! the marietta diner is a brightly lit diner experience with a good atmosphere and huge portions. soup, salad, bread and spinach pie come with almost every dinner meal and you may very well be full by the time your entree arrives. it's a greek themed menu, with plenty of chicken, seafood, and veal dishes along with standard diner fare include burgers, sandwiches and breakfast. we went for dinner and loved our food and enjoyed a plate of chicken saltimbocca among other things, which was very tasty. we had great service and plenty of leftovers. there are several massive dessert cases, and portions are just as generous, one piece of cake is plenty for two or three people!

1950's mood meets 2000's gluttony. the marietta diner has all the feeling of a diner in the 1950's with the serving sizes for the 2000's need for more. i have been there several times and every time i go i am never disappointed and i never leave hungry since their servings are made for two. my favorite dishes include the beef stroganoff and the butternut squash ravioli. i have had sandwiches, salads, and gyros there as well. if you can think of something you might want, they have it, and they make it for two. when you go, split a dish and order one of their cakes from the display case.

we have been customers for 10 years, way before it became a food network hotspot. tonight i brought 8 people from out of town in for dinner and was sooo disappointed. the food was awesome as usual, but the service was rotten from the door all the way through dinner. the hostess was snappy and rude. we were shoved into a table that was just far to close, nobody could move. i waited tables for years so i give all servers the benefit of the doubt. she walked up to the table and said " do you want drinks" quite rudely. none of our food came out at the same time, mine was on the table for 10 minutes before everyone else's. table that was sat 15 minutes after us had foid before us. everything about it was just disappointing, no manager ever spoke to us at all. i spent a bit of time apologizing to my guests. this has been on of my favorite restaurants forever-i am sad to see its fame and growth ruin it's character and what it originally was .

ugh. the neon lights are pretty at night. that is about it for the good things. any menu that is this large is troublesome...they are trying to do too much, and almost inevitably means they do nothing well. and that is the case with this place. from the salad to the soup to the entree.....nothing was special, and nothing was as good as what i can make at home without much effort. much hype, no substance. but the neon is pretty. admire the pretty lights and go elsewhere to eat.

good but not great.... nothing outside of the restaurant would indicate that greek food is one of their specialties, but they also have a wide variety of italian, seafood, burgers, salads, and breakfast served any time. so wide is the selection that the menu is absolutely enormous - overwhelming actually. makes me wonder how they can ensure the quality and freshness of their ingredients and the end product. entrees were good but not worth the price. the selection of dessert cakes and cheesecakes was equally broad, but they were very good. i'll be going back some day to try it again, but not anytime soon.

worth the hype. this place gets a lot of hype, and there's a good reason for that. the menu is so huge that it's overwhelming, and so far everything i've got there has been good. my favorite are the gyros - the meat is flavorful and delicious. that's now what i tend to get every time. my only complaint is the wait can be really long, and i've had truly awful experiences with the staff. it's not a perfect restaurant, but it's a yummy place to go if you're local.

marietta diner has a menu that could take a year to eat your way through. what's more, many of the options involve large portion sizes. this weekend i ate at the diner twice. every time i've eaten there there's a waiting list to get in. friday the wait was short, i had a french dip and fries. the dip was great, the fries a bit bland. the sweet tea tasted off, not sure if it was artificial sweetener or if the tea had been sitting out too long. saturday, long wait, we'd swear people with the same size party who arrived after us were seated first. they messed up our party's size, which meant another 5 or 10 min to get in. several others in my party ordered the apparently phenomenal seafood bisque. i got chicken tenders and fries, this time with gravy and unsweet tea. the tenders were a tad dry, but not horribly so and were pleasant enough, if still no match for a zaxby's. the fries were still bland, but the side of (brown) gravy for dipping made all the difference. the gravy is good and had a nutmeggy taste. the unsweet tea tasted fresh and good. with a little lemon (and our table received several lemons worth of lemon slices) the tea was even better. some spinach appetizer (quiche?) was at the table both nights which the rest of the party loved. both nights we also received a warm loaf of slightly cinnamon tasting bread which was better than the bread offerings of many other restaurants. the diner is also known for desserts, which cost a pretty penny, but you receive giant portions. soft drink offerings are coke products. community coffee. milkshakes are available, but i haven't had one yet. it took a while for everyone's food to arrive, but there was a huge crowd. while the chicken tenders and fries were listed as an appetizer, they were a full meal's worth of food. one half of the french dip is more than you'd get if you ordered a french dip at arby's. go once at least (on a non-holiday weekend) just to try something you can't normally get. on previous visits i'd have rated the diner higher, some of the food is excellent, and the service is normally better. we'll be back to try more things.

good food...and lots of it.. had great experience at marietta diner. loved the challah and spinach pie served while we waited for our food. huge menu, varied choices. we thoroughly enjoyed our dinners and had take home boxes for lunch the next day. yes, the desserts are overpriced, but couldn't resist taking some home. also enough to have leftovers. crowded but fun. will definitely go back.
