mano's restaurant & lounge

it was okay.. it's been a while since we ate at mano's, and i was kind of looking forward to their t-bone steak, ...which isn't even on the menu anymore. oh well.
the boneless ribs were just as delicious as i remembered them, but i must say that while the prices seem comparable to other restaurants, mano's used to be better value. in fact, that was what used to lure usbacktime and again.
service was good, and even though they were quite busy this evening (mother's day), we did not have to wait too long for our food.

don't waste your time. we used to go to manos regularly when i was in university. the restaurant was ugly but the food was reasonably priced, the portions were big and some of the dishes were pretty good.

now we have movedbackto saskatoon and manos has done a substantial renovation. the new look is pretty upscale and i quite like it. but the food doesn't match the decor. food is way too expensive, is mediocre at best, the service is bad and the owners and staff are very pretentious. they are trying to be something they are not - a good restaurant. you can get the same type of food at a lot of different places for lower prices and better quality in saskatoon.

best food and service ever!!. we went for a quick supper. we had the lobster bisque and spanikopita. the lobster bisque was so flavorful and not fishy tasting at ll. we would also recommend the red thai seafood chowder (soup?). it was spiced just so that it only warmed your mouth with flavor. we will absolutely bebackthanks a million..

recently went for lunch here, ordered the beef dip and fries, the beef was so tough i couldn’t cut or chew it, complained to the waitress and she said can i get you a sharper knife? i was stunned and so no but you can take thisbackand remove from my bill thank you, she returns 15 min later and says her boss said to take 25% of my meal, i eaten her for 35 years, wont be back, thanks for the bad meal and poor service

amazing food. service was ok. ambiance was nice. music was horrid. mind you service,ambiance and music all could have been horrible and the food still would have made up for it. highly recommend. will be goingbackin the near future. try the sautéed spinach side. i thought i was in heaven!!!

went to manos for the first time yesterday.  the staff were very friendly and our waiter was fantastic.  i had the smoked salmon grill cheese with the soup of the day (kale and lentil).  the sandwich was a little bland but after i asked added some chipotle mayo, it was great.  the soup was absolutely amazing!  the only thing i would like changed is the music.  pop music doesn't suit the atmosphere of the restaurant.  will bebackto try more menu items.

great food wow!!!! calamari is amazing!! shrimp scampi yumm!!! delmonico steak i dare you!! (its huge!)  they have red wine that you cant even buy in saskatoon, and its delicious and not that expensive!i will beback:)

great food but where is everyone?. we spent the early part of a weekday evening in the lounge. .. bottles of wine were $10 off but judging by the lack of patrons in the bar they could really use some drink and appetizer specials
we had:
chicken livers -outstanding
scallops - fantastic
snanikopita- very average and not worth the $$
dolmad es - house made but nothing special

over all we had a nice time but i doubt we would gobacksince it was dead ... us and a table of 70+ year old men.
i like the bar area itself and hope for some improvement so i can comebackfor those outstanding chicken livers

i was in town last weekend and came to your restaurant (mano's on 8th) and i came across your page. i need to give huge props to your server victoria. she gave me accurate suggestions based on what i preferred. was never far away when i needed her and she had such great energy. if anything this industry needs more of is servers like her. i'll definatly bebackand will highly recommend family and friends to your establishment... p.s great spinach dip

horrible! ordered feast for two and it came out and looked great. bit into the lobster and it was was over cooked , was like it was cooked 2 or 3 times. then eating the backed potato and got to the center and it was raw. will not be goingbackthere ever again

would never recommend coming here. absolutely disappointed in how the restaurant handled an entire pint being spilt on two of our table members at the beginning of our meal. the least that could have been done was a manger coming over to apologize. i will never be goingbackhere!

expensive/dirty/rude. this place is very expensive for what you get. with all the restaurants opening up in saskatoon mano's should be more competitive. went there on a tuesday, after looking through the menu, which had food stains all over it (yuk), i decided to get the special which was a pint of beer and wings for $10. i ordered the beer and when the waitress camebackwith it i asked what wing flavors they have. after listing them all off she says but if you are thinking of doing the special it doesn't start until 7. i was very surprised since no where does it state that it starts at a certain time. so after no apologies i ordered the calamari and caesar salad. which actual wasn't that bad. but i will not bebackfor a while as the last few times i have been there the service seems very unappreciated.

stoodbackand took a breath, nothing improved :(. well , i said it would be a while after the last time having some issues, but last time the food and service were good. unfortunatley something was out of whack last night. its been since my mothers 92 bithday. well now my oldest sons girl friends birthday, a surprise at manos because its time to give them another chance. here is how it went......got there and serving steak bits in the foyer, mmmmm, got to thebackroom since there are about 20 of us. we get some spotty service for the drinks while waiting for the bulk of the guests. lets get to the problems........my daughter ordered along with 1/3 of the group the steak that was on the nights features menu, was same as bits coming in and they were delicious, everyone's came as ordered except my daughter who to her own preference ordered her steak well done, my son ordered rare. his came perfect but hers came completely opposite, blue rare as apposed to well done, hmmm one mistake. my almost 93 yr old mother ordered pork chops(seniors menu had 4 items including hamburger and chicken strips, refused to do half order for elderly) her chops came and she only ate one due to the salt content was over the top. asked how it was and she said to salty, the comment that came from the server was "at least you could taste it"?????????? what???? i ordered also off the featured menu the lamb chops, asked to have them done "medium" they came rare. i asked for a box to take two of them home so i could cook them,(i never was asked how my meal was) she said "nice", i said they forgot to cook them, her reply was "oh ok." wow she doesn't get it !!! and at the end of our long table was young couple that ordered two pasta dishes, couple beers and when they paid their bill it was over $78. come on pasta is a staple in food industry and not usually priced with the prime rib. on top of the bad service, totally out to lunch server, the nonchalant dont really care attitude of the main server, they tack on a 15% gratuity on top to pay for the bad service and mistakes. i standbackand take another breath and look at the whole night. i will be very hungry before i gobackand i am sure most of the other twenty are thinking similarly. now i see why manos on 22nd street has a higher customer rating than the one on 8th. if i ever get a craving for manos it will be returning to the 22nd street location where have never had bad service or mishandled food orders.

no trust in customers ?. i was at mano's for a 92nd birthday party, the food was great as usual and the service was equal, but something new popped up for us was the tip of around 20% already added to our bill and then they ask if you would like to leave an additional tip??? hello, i always tip good for service, and i believe that the menu with the price of the item should include the tip they are about to levy on you. this info should have been told to us at the beginning of the evening. well there is a group of 18, i won't say will not comebackbut it might be a while. should trust their customers to treat them fairly and reward when it is due.

very dissapointed!!!!. my friend and i went to mano's on april 2nd 2013 at 6:30.we both wanted a low fat meal. my friend asked for the liver and onions to be grilled and i asked for my sole to be grilled also. we both ordered the salad to begin and the salad was very good and a nice helping. we thought this was a sign of more good things to come. boy were we disappointed. my friends liver came with panko breaded on top. it was definatly cooked with no fat but it was totally white and as hard as a board. most any body would have known to leave off the breading if you are cooking it on a grill. to top that off there was a large helping of raw purple onions on top(stone cold never touched the grill. her baked potatoe was cold as were the vegetables. my fish seemed like it was frozen preprocessed and my potatoe and vegetables were cold. my friend asked the waiter if she could have the fish, because her plate was terrible. the waiter also took my foodbackand reheated it. we were still charged the same price. we have come to this restaurant for years and were so surprised at the quality of our meals with seemingly no regard from the management. very poor public relations. my friend says she will never go back.

booooooo! i don't have nearly enough thumbs to place in the downward position for this place. i ordered a greek salad with grilled salmon. the salad was lettuce, red cabbage, a couple tomatoes, olives and a few cucumbers. uh...ok then! the salmon came undercooked, still gooey & cold on the inside. when i polity mentioned it to my server she brought it back, hardly acknowledging me. i'm fairly certain that the kitchen scraped the raw fish off my salad, cooked it a couple more minutes and then tossed itbacktogether because the dish camebackgreasy on the outside and messy. oh, did i mention that this fine mess cost me $ 22 with the % 15 standard tip. waste of time and money. i wish i could rate mano's a number less than 0
