eww, eww, eww!!. this place is terrible. i'll admit that weirdgreensauce that obviously has food coloring in it is pretty tasty, but the food is terrible. the person that i was with ordered beef fajitas and i swear it looked like they were boiled. they had no color and no "fire grilled" taste. when we told the waiter that we were not happy with the meal the manager came by and gave us excuses... saying that is the way they cook their meat, which is not true, because i've had fajitas there that were at least edible. what a waste of money!!

green sauce and great service.. we came here after a day at the river, because as usual i was craving tex-mex. thegreensauce is awesome, really awesome. the color is a little scary, but it tastes fantastic so it doesn't really matter. the entree was just ok, the meat wasn't all that great. the tortillas were thick and fluffy and pretty decent. i was just glad they were homemade. our server did a really good job and was very nice and made sure we had everything we needed.
i probably won't go out of my way to make a trip all the way to san marcos just to come here, but i would come back if i happened to be in the area again for thegreensauce and the excellent service...and to give the food another chance.

one of my faves. two words:greensauce. i could go here and make a meal out ofgreensauce and tortilla chips or tortillas. i haven't had anything here that i didn't like.
the tortillas are made fresh in front of you and are delish.
one of my go-to mexican places when i'm in the area.

nooooo. go to los cucos!. yuck yuck yuck.
maybe you have to be either a mamacita's person or a los cucos person, but i hate mamacitia's. the food is just .... well, my quesadillas didn't seem cooked all the way (plasticy cheese) and were room temperature. it took a long time for us to get a table, and once we were seated, i don't remember getting any chip refills at all. not to mention **thegreensauce is nastyyy** i swear it's toothpaste and .. cucumbers. my friends and i have debated over what is in it. it's horrid. the red salsa isn't fabulous. mamacita's fails.

disappointing. the generally positive posts on urban spoon do not reflect our experience. we had a party of 7 so with our selections we got a pretty broad overview of the menu. the florescentgreendip reminded one of an irradiated combination of sour cream and lipton onion dip mix. seasoning was inconsistent, we found ourselves with dishes that were bland and others where salt overpowered the flavors of the food. while our waiter tried to be attentive, the slowness of the kitchen meant the best he could do is offer more tea and water.
who knew one could do so much with a flour tortilla. when they finally arrived well after our entree, they were good in their own right but unfortunately we discovered they had made their way into many other dishes. in the tortilla soup they overwhelmed both the chicken and the tomato soup base (which tasted very canned like). it resulted in an over salted chicken and dumplings concoction.
the tastiest item of the evening resulted from combining items of various plates to balance their disparate level of seasonings. so the caramelized onions and peppers from the pollo verde dish when combined with the mushrooms and "blackened" red snapper and from the pasión del mar dish was a good combination.
the flour tortillas made their appearance at the close of the evening on the form of sopapillas. who knew sopapillas were made from left over tortillas fried in old oil. a fitting closure to the meal.
