an awesome place for really good mexican food for a great price. been here twice before and took the in-laws here to eat dinner, they loved it.

good selection on the menu and a really good salsa & chips bar to help yourself.

this location is the only one i have been to and probably try the other locations as well.

i would recommend eating here when in the san antonio area.

we’ve been eating here since it first opened and found it to be a consistently gratifying experience. great variety, excellently prepared food, and good prices enticed our continued patronage.

horrible customer service!. i have had the worst experience at mama margies on i 10 and wurzbach . on the night of october 31st at 0300 my boyfriend and i went to mama margie's like we do on at least a monthly basis. we ordered and sat down and waited for our order. we ended up sitting near the pick up counter. as many people began to pick up their food and our number still wasn't called my boyfriend went to the registar and purchased chips and salsa.. the wait had been about 20 min at this time. i completely understood as there was a small line at the register and could see the workers were trying to get orders out. my boyfriend and i received out chips immediately and began to eat them. i noticed the workers were no longer moving as quickly and began joking around and not calling out numbers. i looked at the clock and it was 337am at this time. i originally ordered at 308 am. i went up to the counter and asked about our order the manager on duty was william and he stated to me it would be 2-3 min and it would be ready. i went back to our table and continued to wait. i continued to see the employees having a great time and still continued to not have our food. it was now 358 am. 50 min since we ordered. our food was still not ready. i again went to the counter and the manager was not sure where my order was. i handed him my ticket and i explained to him that 55 mins is quite a long time for a fast food resturant. he told me it has not been 55 min and handed me my order i then explained to him and showed him the receipt he then pulled his phone out to check the time. once realizing it had been 55 min he put a cup of queso and pushed the tray towards me. i explained to him that is terrible customer service he then turned and walked away from me.the food was terribly cold and extremely old. nothing was fresh as it normally is. definaly not worth the 33.58 i paid for this experience or poor quality of food!

cons: the ghetto employees inside do not know how to act !! not all of them but a good handful primarily at the register. i know this isn't morton's steakhouse but c'mon act your age. we sat right by the register and just noticed every little immature thing they did. play fighting, texting, taking pictures and just their overall attitude problem seriously was just ridiculous. i never noticed this before but sit close to the area where your food is put out on the counter and they warm everything up in microwaves !! they must have four or so jus constantly warming up food to be served. shouldn't it be hot already?? kinda scary. i got chips n queso and my queso was cold so i asked if they could warm it up which i got attitude for btw and they did but jus stuck it in the microwave for me no surprise. some food is good and some really bad and salty and to me a little overpriced for plates and other items. pros: free chips n salsa. the restaurant got a makeover and looks really nice and vibrant from front to back. the drive thru is always fast (when people in front of you don't fall asleep while ordering lol, idiots) and everyone has always been nice, helpful and courteous when getting food to go. overall don't go inside and stick to the drive thru !

don't see the big hype about it .-.. i guess it's good for people who've never eaten mexican food... it's ridiculous that they charge extra for sides like sour cream or guacamole, i'm pretty sure those are fixings for the taco!!! yo no comerá sequida aqu

mama margie's is the best!! the place to go after a night out!! great tacos and margaritas! fast service! i will always love this place!!

i like this place. this is my current go to place for a decent lunch. i agree with most posts here. it is better than taco cabana they use real plates and silverware, and is way cleaner imo. i don't care for their cheese enchiladas because they use that greasy chewey cheese not american. so a crunchy taco, a guacamole chalupa or a fajita salad are all good choices.

great food, annoying pa. the food and salsa bar were great. however, they _yell_ the order numbers over a pa system, which got annoying after a while. it was turned up too loud and the people were actually yelling into the microphone.

79 cent bean and cheese tacos!. the bean and cheese tacos are not only affordable but delicious for a late night snack!

great atmosphere & margaritas!. we really enjoyed hanging out here. the margaritas were a deal and they were very good. i would recommended sticking with nachos or quesadillas here. the tacos and fajitas aren't bad, but they are certainly nothing to write home about. just enjoy the drinks and chips with cheese and you'll be happy.

gave mama margie's another try today and thought it was pretty decent so i changed my vote to "likes it" - but they are on a probation period. :) reminds me a lot of taco cabana: tex mex food at decent prices, similar atmosphere but more seating, salsa bar which has the same choices and tastes identical, etc. but i like how mama margie's offers free, hot, salty, crispy, all-you-can-eat chips! never knew this before! queso was not as thick as taco cabana which kept the thin, crispy chips from crumbling. if i'm in the mood for inexpensive tex mex and mama margie's is nearby, i'd go again.

love it. lots of seating, free self-serve chips and salsa, and cheap tacos. no complaints. mama margie's long ago replaced taco cabana as my favorite chain for fast tex-mex.
