maiko sushi

this sushi is fabulous, so glad we found it. i do with they had more tempura options, but what's they do have is amazing. we had the spicy california and the caterpillar roll. both amazing.

first time eating here and we will definitely be back. the sashimi was amazing. the combo sushi was also great but the scallop roll was my favorite.

this place is definitely a hidden gem! we were skeptical when we first arrived, as they told us they don't serve alcohol when we attempted to order sapporo. additionally, when we ordered prawn tempura (which was on the menu), they told us they didn't have any available. despite these things, the food was absolutely genius. everything was made fresh and the fish was tender and flavourful. we'll definitely eat here again!

clean, friendly, delicious. a nice korean couple runs this little sushi shop. i was looking for a quick, tasty sushi spot while on a business trip and this place was perfect!

great sushi. the best value you can get in greater victoria bar none. the sushi is great and the couple that owns and operates it are hard working, very nice people. give it a try. i go multiple times every week.

very cute spot!. great place! i wouldn't say it's the best on the island (as that's sushi kobo in comox) but it ia a close rival. we went early evening and it was super quite. food was super fresh and we were able to relax and just enjoy each other and the simple, cute resturant.

also found prices a little less expensive then elsewhere in the city and we loved how sweet the waitress was.

hands down best sushi in the westshore! dare i even say victoria! the menu is small but the quality is impeccable. i highly recommend the cowboy roll, you will not regret it!

delicious! you can tell the fish is really fresh and it has a lovely flavour. spicy sauce is very spicy but very tasty! great service as well.

fresh!. maiko sushi has the most delicious spicy salmon cone and negitoro roll. service is amazing and fish is always fresh and tasty. i haven't tried everything on the menu but i'm sure it's all delicious.

new owners great food. maiko started to go downhill a bit with the previous owner; however, with the new owners it is a great place for sushi and a very friendly staff.

it may be easy for someone from my generation to confuse the former maiko gardens with maiko sushi but apart from maiko gardens having served japanese cuisine, there is little they have in common.

the very best sushi in langford and all of victoria! excellent quality ingredients and the new owner/sushi chef cuts and rolls with such precision and care that it is a joy to see and eat. the atmosphere is like eating in your friends kitchen - comfortable, but not super stylish . go for the sushi!

wonderful service, delicious food. my daughter requested sushi for her birthday and we didn't want to go downtown. maiko sushi in langford was amazing! personalized service, super accommodating, balloons for the birthday girl and special complimentary desserts for the kids, all unprompted. and i had never even heard of them before. tiny, authentic place in the city hall building open for lunches plus thurs. & fri. only for dinner. highly recommended :)

"real" japanese restaurant. what a great restaurant. i did not know restaurant like this existed in victoria(langford)! such a little/cute restaurant!

what i like about the restaurant is the fact maiko sushi is owned by a "real" japanese person. most of japanese restaurants in victoria are owned by korean, chinese or vietnamese. at maiko sushi, you are able to experience the "real taste of japan"...!!

not only the taste, but the restaurant is very beautifully decorated and it has a "japanese feeling" to it.
i questioned to the owner mariko about the way how the restaurant was decorated and she told me that she had decorated it all by herself!!

i sat at the counter because i always like to watch how they make sushi. the sushi chef, toshi, he was quite a character...kept me entertained for the whole time i was there. :) (thank you!)

i ordered smoked california roll, tuna roll and miso soup.
they were all so delicious that i felt like i was in japan! they said that they use japanese rice and i could definitely tell the difference in quality.

i heard from my colleague that their lunch boxes are very cheap & yummy too...so i am definitely going back to try that!!!

if you love japanese food (or sushi), japanese people or japanese whatever! i would strongly recommend this place to you!
as soon as you enter the door, you will be in japan.
