maha's, a restaurant i had never heard of until recently when i started seeing posts of their "mind blowing chicken sandwich" on instagram. as i researched more about their restaurant and menu, i realized howdelicioustheir food looked.
we went to maha's during lunch time which was not the best time as they don't have many tables and all of the seats were full. we had to wait 45 minutes for a seat (we stayed because we desperately wanted to try theirdeliciouslooking food). once seated, you could tell the restaurant itself was quite small. it had a homely feel to it. there were paintings up on the wall that were for sale. the tables were quite close together as well. the waitress gave us water as we looked through the menu. the staff were extremely friendly.
we decided to try the shrimp p.o. boy in a pita and the mind blowing chicken sandwich. it took about 30 minutes for our food to be made. let's be honest, the chicken sandwich did not look as big as it did in all of those pictures i saw of it. infact, we expected it to be something large enough for two people judging by the images. it turned out to be pretty small. portion sizes here seem a bit small. yet, the flavours were amazing. the po boy sandwich was my favourite. the crispy shrimp with a drizzle of some sort of tangy sauce with a side of their hot sauce was amazing. i just wish their portions were a bit bigger.
i'd definitely recommend this restaurant since the food and prices weren't too bad. the atmosphere may not be everyone's cup of tea but you can always do take out!
