food is good! wait times not so much.

prices have also increased

we decided to check this place out on a weekend, my friends love the food so took us here. be prepared to wait.

11:30am arrival, told there is 1hr and 15min wait
12:20pm arrived back and waited another 20 mins for table
12:50pm: ordered appetizers and food
1:33pm: appetizers arrived
1:50pm: got main course

ambiance/decor:
very small space limited tight seating. they have pictures all over the walls. with the space being small it sometimes feels claustrophobic with all the pics and furniture. its a tight fit. you can see the kitchen as it is right behind the cashier. since it is small you can feel the heat from the kitchen in the summer. there is outside seating available. there are 2 bathroom!

staff:
friendly, almost feel bad for them as they are sweating buckets. because they are so busy they miss your request often for items etc.

food:
they bring you cold water (mint or regular)

flafel $4: you get 2 pieces on a bread of lettuce with tahini sauce. they were really tasty and definetly fresh but they are smaller pieces.

bread:$1 for a mini bread (very small bread)

watermelon salad:$9 for that price you'd think you get a little bit more. portion are small but salad is definitelydelicious(only available during summer)

cumin potato:deliciousbut it's mostly the sauce that make them delicious

chicken sadwich:$10 huge portion, the chicken is spilling out the sandwich. it was really good. this is the best thing ever. i crave it all the time!!

kebdah liver in pita: this wasdelicioustoo

the food is good no doubt. the atmosphere is great too. you feel like your just at someone's house in a foreign country eating food.

this review is just a warning that expect to wait awhile for food!! also if really busy and limited seating expect to share a table with stranger. i didn't mind but some people certainly do.

maha's, a restaurant i had never heard of until recently when i started seeing posts of their "mind blowing chicken sandwich" on instagram. as i researched more about their restaurant and menu, i realized howdelicioustheir food looked.

we went to maha's during lunch time which was not the best time as they don't have many tables and all of the seats were full. we had to wait 45 minutes for a seat (we stayed because we desperately wanted to try theirdeliciouslooking food). once seated, you could tell the restaurant itself was quite small. it had a homely feel to it. there were paintings up on the wall that were for sale. the tables were quite close together as well. the waitress gave us water as we looked through the menu. the staff were extremely friendly.

we decided to try the shrimp p.o. boy in a pita and the mind blowing chicken sandwich. it took about 30 minutes for our food to be made. let's be honest, the chicken sandwich did not look as big as it did in all of those pictures i saw of it. infact, we expected it to be something large enough for two people judging by the images. it turned out to be pretty small. portion sizes here seem a bit small. yet, the flavours were amazing. the po boy sandwich was my favourite. the crispy shrimp with a drizzle of some sort of tangy sauce with a side of their hot sauce was amazing. i just wish their portions were a bit bigger.

i'd definitely recommend this restaurant since the food and prices weren't too bad. the atmosphere may not be everyone's cup of tea but you can always do take out!

this place was such a nice surprise and a place we will definitely return to.

the only downside here is that the place is super small and gets crowded so you will wait.

the food options are plentiful and alldeliciouswith something for everyone. we liked the egg dishes, eggplant, sausage, appetizers, soup etc. it was all good and the people that work there and own the place are great :)

highly recommend for brunch! too bad they don't have a more central location.
