hidden gem. dont judge this place by its appearance if i did i would have never have tried the food here - the decor is outdated to say the least but these uys have been in operation for such a long time thats saying something. i must say the food is really beautiful. nice authetntic flavours.

this is the best indian food in brisbane. don't let the decor fool you. they are known very well for their takeaway however dining in is still the best option.

food is awful, to be honest, butter chicken tasted like tomato sauce, naan bread with feta and spinach had close to nothing of those ingredients. mango chicken tasted like mango but lacked of the original spices that make this dish something special. overall terrible experience, i won't come back to this place again.

avoid if you don't want to waste your money.... tried this new place tonight and should have gone elsewhere.
got a prawn vindaloo and garlic naan tonight.
asked for a medium vindaloo and it was burning hot. there was no flavour, only heat. the garlic in the naan tasted raw and rice was watery.
called up for pick up and told it would take 25 minutes. ended up being 43 minutes by the time i got my order! ridiculous for 1 meal and naan. would have been worth it if the food tasted good. cost me $20.85 for one meal!

great food, awesome taste!. by far one of the best indian food iv tasted around my area, the spices and flavor is great, would recommend.

fail.. hubby and i are lifelong lovers of indian food. this was unfortunately a fail on good indian food.
we ordered a beef madras, and what i got was the weirdest version of a madras i have ever tasted. bland and creamy. yes, creamy! it was actually cream coloured.
the tikka masala was oddly sweet and lacking flavour.
i adore lime pickle, the smell makes my mouth water normally. the smell of this lime pickle made me wonder if it was off?
the only saving grace was the eggplant curry which was nice.

get it india!!. maharani has been keeping us happy for years. the food is top notch... yes the restaurant is a little small, but the staff are always really nice and can get so busy, but never compromise their service. the word of mouth travels far for their butter chicken.. i love the beef rogan josh.. but everything ive tried has been delicious. i would love to see them branch out into a bigger restaurant or franchise as they leave a lot of other places for dead. we moved to the south side but moved back to the northside, first thing we said was yesssss close to maharani!!
buffet is really good value as well.

service was good and fast but the butter chicken and mango chicken was quite bad. nothing much to it and the curry was just liquid with floating bits of chicken.
i was really looking forward to it based on the user feedback but it left a lot to be desired.

great indian. because our usual indian haunt was closed (sitar albion) we looked up and found this place and boy we were lucky sitar was closed as maharani is a hidden gem!

we had the butter chicken and vegetable curry with garlic narn. both dishes were delicous and generous servings. all comes with rice.

will definately eat here again and again and again.

very good indian at good prices!

great!. a real surprise, the restaurant needs some updating but don't let that put you off. the service and quality of food is what keeps the locals coming back. 5 stars!

best indian ever. one hater on here which is very surprising!

have had a lot of meals here over the last 10 years as i lived nearby. never once have i had a bad meal. the food is full of flavor and the service is excellent. i have been to other indian restaurants in brisbane and abroad, they just don't compare.

now drive for 30 mins to get here when i get that craving.

great value and tasty meals - what more could you ask for.

what an awesome dinner. you know when u just keep eating cause it is so tasty and wholesome, and you enjoy every mouthful. this is the place to go. we were going to have take away as we moved to the area but we were lucky that a smorsgeboard was out due to a large booking. it was exceptionally good value $19.99, for 4 meat mains and 2 vegetarian, naan, rice and all the additional trimmings. this is really a place where u can't judge a book by its cover. owner has been there 15 yrs and they had 2 phones ringing at once for take away orders. can i say anymore. love it

quite good...really. not the best indian place on the planet but it's like a comfy old shoe that you can always fall back on. consistently good nosh. love the saag and lamb madras.
