35 minutes for a hamburger?!?!?. went for lunch. knew i was in trouble when my number was 99, and right after my order they called 81! then as i walked along the counter i saw the grill cook pull a partially cookedburgerout of a pan, and throw it on the flat top. two employees to run the joint at lunch time is a joke. 35 minutes later theburgertasted exactly like you would expect given the method of preparation. take the time to walk a block to the levee and get a 5 guys..........

massive and delicious. my wife and i were in town for the evening and were looking for a goodburger- we both tried the american outlaw and loved it. juicy and delicious. shared a large fry - super crispy and great with vinegar. definitely our go toburgerplace when we are here.

bestburgerin town! not!!!. we knew that when we walked into this restaurant, and were the only table, we were in trouble! if a place is going to advertise as having the "best burgers in town", you had golly well better have a full restaurant at 6:00pm!!

my wife and i went there, hoping to get a goodburgerfor my birthday, and buddy, this just wasn't it. honestly, i would have rather have gone up the stairs to the levee up to five guys. theburgermeat was completely unseasoned. sorry, but you have to have seasoning on a burger. the truckloads of barbecue sauce further retracted from being able to taste any kind of beef in our sandwiches. oh yes, there's beef; there's a lot of it! so you can imagine how much barbecue sauce they put on it, to completely cover up the taste of so much beef!

we ordered the "mad fries" to go with our burgers. i guess they're called that, because they'll make you mad. the fries were stale and greasy, as if they were fried 2 hours ago. they were probably the worst fries i've ever had.

my wife noticed that the restaurant was really dusty. she was not happy to be there. i did notice that the interior of the restaurant had "a few teeth missing". tiles were missing from the floor, and the interior was just in a mild state of disrepair.

finally, the help seemed unfriendly, or unhappy to be working there. there were no smiles, no cheerful hellos. they help seemed absolutely mopey.

really the only good i can say about the food was the bread for the buns was pretty darn good, and they had good tvs. that's really a pitiful statement for a place that advertises the "bestburgerin town."

just go to five guys..... walking in, the menu is almost identical to five guys besides the addition of 40 other products they do not make well.. five guys is good because they make burgers fries and hotdogs.. and thats it.. 3 things and 3 things well... this place might have a decentburgerbut the rest is boring and bland.. they are trying to do too many things at once without doing any of them well... "chicken filet" sandwich is a frozen (non filet) ground up breaded patty.. when they ask you "pretzel bun or whatever the other one is"... this is there way of giving you a decision between two upsells... not knowing they are upsells..

again, if u want a five guysburgerand five guys fries... just go to five guys and save yourself the disappointment that is mad mikes.

i'll tell you what, being from texas and being a chef i have a soft spot in my heart for red meat and specifically (outside of anything that comes off of a smoker of course) burgers. i have been on the search for the "perfect"burgerfor almost over a decade now. mad mike's....has come damn close. my judgement comes from two qualifications; it satisfies my need for that juicy classic american cheeseburger with just cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, ketchup and mustard resting gently in between that heavenly soft but crisp bun. but at the same time, has the capability to tame that wild carnivorous beast inside with an option to pile on bacon, an onion ring, even an egg with a spicy variety of condiments. although i have a feeling my calling for the "perfect"burgerwill be left to a higher being, this sure comes close. it is definitely my recommendation for bestburgerin the tri-state area.

for a personal bio to be published in a local theater playbill, i recently divulged the following nuggets about my personal life: recent theater credits. my wife, the beautiful julie niesen gosdin, and i live happily in over-the-rhine with our three children of the feline variety. my life is a quest for the perfect cheeseburger. if i had to choose one food item that i would be forced to eat every day of my life, it would be the cheeseburger. and don’t think i couldn’t do it. i’m sure that i was cheeseburger-deprived as a child and that i’m compensating for time lost. whenever julie and i eat in a new restaurant, i typically scan the menu, looking for aburgeroption before checking any other available dishes. this can be awkward and often futile if one is in, say, an italian restaurant. i was tipped off years ago that my favorite new york bistro had a fantastic burger, but that it wasn’t on the menu. patron

finally a good burger! only drawback...i live in dayton and had to drive to newport, ky to get it! flavorful and really, really good! the burgers here are huge. prices are very reasonable for what you get. the hawaii-five-o was tasty but needed more pineapple. this place won't hurt your wallet, you'll leave full & happy....bring your appetite! dayton could take lessons from mad mike....wish we had aburgerplace like this.

i went with the plain burger, which is basically the outlaw with mushrooms and without the onions or “mad sauce” (chipotle mayo)…i wanted to judge theburgeron its own without the sauce. i did get it on a pretzel bun, however, as that sounded too good to pass up. i got home and opened it up…the bun had gotten a little moist from being in the foil wrapper…it was a very juicy burger. it was two thin patties, lettuce, tomato, grilled mushrooms, and
