hyped & just ok. had the ribs, they were decent---sauces were nothing special. the onion rings were just a sponge for grease. good selection of beers. not sure i'd stop again, my wife thought it was so-so.

great bar b que! little pricey if you take an entire family. you will have left overs for two days which is great if you soak your to go with their sauces. cheers!

over-rated. extremely! not to mention that they have the female staff dress like prostitutes. won't take clients there again.

just passing through.... we stopped in at mac's on the recommendation of the guy at our hotel. service was fast and attentive - and the food was very good. other reviews slam mac's as not being "authentic" carolina bbq - and it may not be - but it sure tasted good and that's what counts. we had the 'little bit of everything' sampler platters. huge servings. bring a big appetite.

get the tacos & veggie plate!. i finally made it out to macs and it was awesome. i went with the chicken tacos and then got the veggie plate so i could try out a few of their sides. the mac & cheese, green bean casserole, and chili were all fabulous! i will definitely go back. the food was served ridiculously fast (given how packed the place was), and everything was super cheap.

bbq that could be. once again the disappointment of que that could be. we ordered the brisket and a rack of ribs. first the sides beans are very watery, slaw just cabbage and carrots with a bad of mayo nothing special. potato salad was at best just ok. now the mac and cheese was very good but had to add tabasco to get it to that point. the brisket was dry and tough. ribs were rubbed and smoked past the flavor of the meat. they were not smoke sour just to much rub or whatever they put on them. the service was the pits also. our waitress was to busy texting to care about anything she was doing. we watched our plates sit on the kitchen bar for 10 mins before she had them to our table. i told my wife there's our food, but it just sat there while she texted with whoever? my report of the wait staff has everything to do with this review, but my dislike for the food has nothing to do with the waitress we had. they just happened to go hand in hand. we visited on saturday and i did my review on monday to try and give the most honest review i could.

pretty good. i've been to the macs up near huntersville and the one on south tryon. they're both pretty good. the atmosphere is what you would expect at a biker themed bbq restaurant. it's loud, the waitresses are a lot of fun, and the food is great. i ordered a bbq sandwich and they have a variety of sauces. my buddy had the brisket, and i took a bite. it was good.

mostly a hit but on some occasions slightly off target!. i have eaten at mac's many times! i love the beer selection, both on tap and bottle. their are like 100 beers served here, which also include high gravity beers. the atmosphere is always good. flip a coin...the wait staff can be either friendly or sarcastic depending on which side the coin falls on.

i usually go there for the beef brisket and pulled pork. most of the time both are very tender and i especially like the bbq glaze on the beef brisket. i have been there on some occasion where the beef brisket is a little over cooked and the pulled pork is dry. i would recommend calling them and asking the staff when is the best time to get the brisket because it is slow cooked and if you get it just right, then it is to die for, a minute later and your like...is this rubber i am chewing on. tell me how the wait staff responds when you call to ask them when the best time is to get the freshest most delishes brisket, that is if they don't hang up on you before you get a response. lets start a trend

i don't particularly like their tobasco infused fried pickles and i actually love both fried pickles and tobasco, but for some reason together it tastes a little off. let me add the tobasco at my own discretion ladies and gents.

the boston baked beans are good. the sweat potato fries and pretty much all the rest of the sides are excellent like the collard greens and the mac n' cheese which is that thick southern style. if you like it hardy...you know the kind of mac n cheese that will fill that gutt and make you want to unbuckle your belt and put your hand down your pants like al bundy from married with children, this is the stuff dreams are made of.

solid eats.. the big pig is as good as it gets from a bbq sandwich. a nice variety of sauces to douse it in, and a great selection of microbrews to wash it down which is why this place kicks ass. the music is almost always good. and the atmosphere is just generally awesome. go after 10pm for some cheap eats and get your feed on!
