mac’s is a “biker bar” and while it does attract a biker crowd, there’s nothing there that would make your average yuppie squirm or feel uncomfortable. in fact, i’d argue that yuppies are really the true target demographic for mac’s. since we’ve started coming here, it has expanded its patio seating to one of the better patios in town and thankfully we were able to sit outside on a friday night with no wait. one of the things i’ve always dug about the place is the great beer selection - this is the only bar or restaurant in charlotte that i am aware of where i can get my longtime favorite beer, rogue hazelnut brown (in a 20 oz. bomber, nonetheless). they have a

good q!. i went to the mac's in lake norman earlier this year. their bbq is so good! with friends we shared barbaque ribs,shredded q, corn and other sides. it is a small location out there but non pretentious for the lake norman area.
their food is one of the best around the area, and for charlotte.

fried pickles, pulled bbq pork, drinks, tvs, bikes. what more do you need. food was good and service also fast. nice place to kick back with friends and relax. lots of good things on menu so can't wait to return.

overall, we liked our burgers and would get them again here—even though angus would have loved to have had his cooked less. the onion rings may not be stellar, but the fries were.

top notch!. from presentation to digestion, mac's scores big on every customer's palate. their menu is diverse and demonstrates a deep understanding of the bbq traditions found in various u.s. regions, and the beverage options are perfect compliments that feature local + craft beers.

while the ambiance is far from upscale, that is exactly what this group is going for. you don't have to dress up to come enjoy your choice of meat, but you do have to plan on napping to let it all sink in! try one of their platters to get the most of your first time, and never hesitate to ask the servers for their suggestions. the kitchen is fast in prepping everything, and is very attentive to detail. a true hit in south end!

what it is, and what it ain't. never felt that mac's was a true representation of classic carolina barbecue. i know there are folks who will disagree, but i don't care for their pulled pork and such.

however, the brisket is good. the sides are good. the beer is cold. and the combination of good service and interesting clientele makes this a place i have long enjoyed visiting. so it earns a thumbs-up from me.

i just don't get pulled pork. for that i go to shelby or lexington.

absolutely horrible! cold food, poor service and rude bartenders, and no managers around. been in 3 times to give them a chance and each time it gets worse and worse. i doubt i will ever go back. seems like every time i go in there, there are new faces. can't they keep a staff? kitchen is loud and rude with comments they make. everyone has raved about this place and they have yet to deliver an above average experience.

never leave disapointed. my bf and i go here at least once every month or so. i get the lil' pig pulled pork sandwich, he gets the big pig. i like their fries, he loves their cheddar grits. they have a spicy fried pickles appetizer if i can recal and its in spears, which i didnt really like. i usually get a side salad too and its always fresh and refreshing. just a good place to eat.

this was my first visit. great beer menu and service was great. i've had better wings and bbq sandwich was very good.

amazing bbq. the brisket is truly an award winner. the sides are great and the feel of the restaurant is cool. it can be pricey though.

overrated. i honestly don't get this place. i have been more than enough times and i just don't like it. being born and raised in nc, i'm picky about bbq..and this bbq tastes like crap! i'm sorry..it's just not very good. and you're green bean casserole is an embarrassment. service has always been good though. but if i never eat there again, i won't care

my family was in town and we ordered a very large, expensive to go order from the south blvd. location. i was very disappointed when i opened the boxes of 135 dollars worth of food to see our wings were cold and not sauced, the ribs were all tendon and cartilage and the pulled pork was beyond dry. when i called and told the manager i was rudely told i could come and get sauce. this restaurant is without question a customer service nightmare. the bbq is beyond terrible and the employees don't care. don't waste your money. i will never return.
