always delicious. great choice of sandwiches and entrees. frequently order daily specials as well, great creativity from the chefs.

atmosphere always cool and laid back, while still being efficient.

i heard about lunch. (1213 summit ave) through the grapevine and looked up their menu online (which was no easy feat). you can’t exactly google “lunch restaurant richmond” and find what you need to know. luckily, they are listed on urbanspoon. i immediately knew that he would love this place when i read the menu description of the “loaded chicken” dinner entrée. it is chicken, stuffed with pulled pork, wrapped in bacon topped with cheddar cheese and barbeque sauce and served with mashed potatoes. that is a little much for me, but when i texted it to evan, he responded immediately with “sounds awesome!” even though we went for dinner, i was still recovering from the night before and was not really in the mood for drinks. we were seated right before happy hour ended and miller lite drafts were only $1.50. that is cheaper than a soda, so i had to man up and get one. i ate here for the first time recently, as i had read great things about it. it's located in a small, hole in the wall just off broad street. i went in the mid afternoon to avoid the crowd, but there was still a small wait for a table.

as i waited, i eyed up everyone else's food and it looked awesome! i ended up ordering the crab cake sandwich. it took a little long to come out, but there was a rush of orders just before mine.

i will have to say, i was disappointed... and it was not the best like the menu stated. it was a thin patty, with tons of breading. it doesn't appear to be the same crab cake that's on the benedict and i doubt it's the same that's in the entree.

anyways, everyone else's food looking great, and i can't wait to try lunch again and order something else... i recommend staying away from the crab cake sandwich.

the one other thing id like to mention, is the waitress made it seem like we were bothering her by eating there- no smiles, not very friendly, and even an eye roll when we asked her recommendation. maybe she had been crushed earlier in the day, or it was an off day, so i'll hold my judgement.

i definitely will be back!

great little place. went there for our first time for dinner on a saturday night. it is definitely a small place, but we got a table and had a wonderful dinner. we had the special of the night, steak with mashed potatoes and asparagus wrapped in bacon. the meal was awesome. the asparagus are to die for...amazing! we both were wanting more of them. we will definitely go back and are planning on trying breakfast next time.

lovely little hipster spot to nurse a hangover. a typically long wait gives way to a nice little menu that covers the bases of brunch without being too extensive or too expensive. lunch options are unsurprising but well done, and the service has always been consistently pleasant if rushed.

loved this place! awesome stop for southern style food. to start the pork rinds with pimento cheese are addictive, crispy, porky with a great creamy dip, maybe pop an aspirin just in case. the fried green tomatoes were perfectly on point as well, my gf loved her pulled pork on griddle cakes, while i enjoyed the catfish blt, with it's thick slabs of bacon and perfectly fried fish. this is exactly what we northern's dream of traveling to the south! the place is fun, with an upbeat bar vibe. all this and under $50 with a few  iced teas!

hands down best restaurant in richmond- the loaded chicken is amazing paired with the mac and cheese- love this place for the environment and food!

very unique restaurant! both locations are small and they both have the same menu. (if you've never been before, there is a lunch. location and supper! location. they are a short walk away from each other.) we had the fried chicken and macaroni and the crab cake. both were absolutely delicious. just wish the restaurants were slightly more roomy. lots of character and tucked away. highly recommend if you've never been before.

my harem and i decided to give supper a try. we arrived at supper but were asked if we want to eat in lunch instead - they had immediate seating. we chose that option.

we ordered the charcuterie plate app - very nice. for entrees, my wife ordered the mediterranean stuffed portobello mushrooms, our friend ordered shrimp and grits, and i ordered the braised boneless short ribs and the brussel sprouts.

we all enjoyed the flavors and pairings - the only issue was that my wife's and my entrees were _extremely_ salty - almost too salty to enjoy.

we tried several desserts and enjoyed them all. the baileys chocolate cake was particularly decadent.

in all it was an ok experience, but i'm conflicted as to whether i should give them another try.

this quaint eatery made one of the best omelets i've ever had, i could taste herbs and spices which made the dish more than just egg, cheese and meat.  the shredded hash browns were a bit greasy but it didn't stop me from cleaning my plate.  it is a tight space and every table was full when my wife and i went but it is an awesome spot for breakfast.  it's a small eatery great for parties of 4 or less.

first timer. we came for lunch, but i must say breakfast looked pretty good. the place is small (23 seats including bar), but they have another space right next door. the atmosphere is great. i had the picked & fried. fried chicken thighs with bacon and sliced pickles. bummer was the pickles were bread and butter which i'm not a fan of. still the sandwich was excellent. i'll definitely be back. you should check them out!

if you are looking for a place that just wants to take your money and then kick you out the door once they have it, then this is your spot! my co-workers and i went to supper on a friday after work. it is funny that in the other review they said they cannot take reservations, because we called and made reservations for our outing there. when we made the reservations there was no mention of any "community table", maybe because there were 6 of us. the place is relatively small, and it was crowded. our waitress seemed to rush us from the start and seemed annoyed when she was taking our order. the food was decent and came out hot, and that is pretty much the only part of the experience that was decent. again they seemed rushed as they started taking up plates practically as soon as you finished putting the last bite in your mouth. half way through our meal, they sat a couple at the very end of our table that we did not even know. the waitress brought our checks before we even asked for them. some of the group wanted to continue to have drinks, it was then we were told that they had "booked our table for an 8 o'clock party and that we would have to "get up and stand at the bar". i'm sorry but when has it ever been ok for a place to tell you when you are done unless they are closing? after we spent all this money on drinks and appetizers and dinner and dessert, you want to tell us basically to leave because no one is standing the rest of the time. needless to say we will not be back, neither will we be ordering for our takeout for our office. a business who does not appreciate it's customers or the money they spend, will not keep it's customers nor garner new ones.

poor management. i went to "supper "for the first time in friday night jan.9.i had been to lunch and enjoyed the food. i did not have reservations but knew there would be a wait and was willing to do so. the hostess gave us a 30 minute wait time. with what appeared to be 2 large parties this seemed fine. one hour and a half later ,after the hostess told us we were next, she proceeded to sit a group of 4(we were a group of 3) asking us to wait just a while longer till another table cleared. we said no , you told us we were next. she said but the table that opened up will take 4 and we will set your up for three. i asked to speak to the manager and all she could say was sorry the hostess misjudged the whole night. no concession was attempted to make it better or to satisfy a customer. i can not remember when i have felt so unappreciated as a consumer. poor and i do mean poor business skills.

service is important too!. the meal i ordered was ok, it was the crab cake sandwich. nothing too outstanding.

the service is what i really had a problem with, the bartender (short w dark hair) that waited on me needs to improve her customer service skills. although i left a tip (15%) i regretted it once i returned to my car. needs to go back to bartending school!

great service best breakfast we have had in a while. absolutely delicious.
