over hyped! ate there recently and was terribly disappointed. the "dining room consists of about 5 tables and thefoodwas average at best. atmosphere is a good live band scene but don't go out of your way for lunch or dinner. didn't see what all the fuss was about!

it is easy to find, on the same road as the tourist center about 50m before that. its mostly an open space where you order thefoodat the counter, and then you get served on the table. there was beautiful live country music. in the scorching heat, the draft beer did the trick. the dirty love burger was quite full on. double tenderloin patty, with bacon strips and fried egg, ... and cheese. calories and calories to the last minute. if you are looking for a nice cozy indoor space, this is not for you. seating is basic and there is a stage where the performances happen. this has been mentioned in the lonely planet too and is one of the more economical options in stockyard. also tried the vanilla shake. thought it will be milkshake but turned out to be ice cream shake. good introduction to the texan bbq.

would give it another chance. the first time i ate here several years ago, it was the best burger i had ever had. the fries were a revelation. when i visited more recently, everything had slipped considerably. thefoodwas good, but nothing like it had been.

i would give this another chance to see if tim love has improved it, but as of summer 2013 no one seemed to be minding the store as needed.

this may require a revisit. first the good news: great onion strings, it's open aired, there was live music and about the only place servingfoodafter 1030pm (we had just left willie's picnic), oh yeah, beer was cold. i agree with other reviewers the staff seemed indifferent and not friendly. helloooo, you are in the "service industry". at least pretend that you care. burgers could have been better mostly if they'd cooked them to order? seemed like mine was old. the place started filling up with post-concert crowd a bit later so the people who got burgers after us looked like they got fresh ones.

its an outside restaurant that is cash only!foodis great burger is cooked to perfection, fries are perfectly salted and cooked. that being said they are one of the few places in stockyards that have a public r&r. the girl at register taking my order was rude.

great burgers but for a price... i have been meaning to check this place out for awhile and we are big fans of tim love. i agree with the other reviews that the burgers were good as i had the double dirty love burger w/o the love sauce but did have it on the shack dog. both were excellent with the hot dog bun being slight toasted but i expected it to be bigger but it was one of the better dogs i have had in a while. the double dirty was perfect and hit the spot (i went there starving on purpose). my wife loved their fries but wasnt so crazy about her love burger with cheese. she felt it was like an ordinary burger you could get from any burger joint. my wife order a large lemonade and small lemonade, for our son, but both cups were the same size but we were charged for a large and small. i just had a water and was charged .92 cents.
we were the only ones on the lower level and i agree the cashier wasnt very friendly and seemed to be more interested in talking with her friend at the bar. we went there for lunch on 7/22.
i know this place is called the love shack but i felt it could of presented itself a little better in cleanliness and friendlier service. all in all our bill came to $31.00 for thefood(pricey) plus i did give a tip and we paid $2.00 for parking across the street.
i know a new location has opened downtown ft. worth, south of 8th avenue iirc, and maybe this new place will be more accomodating. i would go again.
