its an outside restaurant that is cash only! food is great burger is cooked to perfection, fries are perfectly salted and cooked. that being said they are one of the few places in stockyards that have a public r&r. the girl at register taking my order was rude.

awesome atmoshphere and better burgers. seriously, if you don't like this, then just get back in your car and head over to mcdonalds, there is one up the street. the dirty love burger has to be one of my all time favorites. we are trying to work our way through texas monthly's best burgers in texas list from a few years ago, but can't stop going to love shack... the atmosphere is great here. just be sure to bring cash or be cool with paying an atm fee, b/c they only take cash. on a nice weekend afternoon, we like to head over grab a few beers, a dirty love burgers or a yard bird(great grilled chicken sandwhich) and their awesome chips, a few more beers and enjoy the live music.

must have at least once. i had the dirty love burger and fries. excellent! i did not think the quail egg would be as good as it was. i had the fries which are thin cut but full length, companion had onion rings, they were different than normal but very good.

not so great.... did not live up to the hype. burgers were ok but the sides sucked. not a fan of the love shack.

if it is a nice day, not many better places. it is all open air, so on a nice day it is awesome. lots of times there will be live music playing on the back stage. the service can be slow but if you are lucky enough to get a good seat, you really don't mind.

i also think the fries are particularly good. the hamburgers are probably average to above average.

loved the atmosphere, the musical entertainment was kinda gay, but the burger kicked ass!

really good, but not the best ever.. i really love lonesome dove, so an obvious choice was the love shack for lunch. the burger is really good, a mix of 50% prime tenderloin and 50% prime brisket, quail egg, cheese, and bacon. the bacon is the weak link. a smokier thicker lardon would really set this off. still, a really really good juicy slab of meat. the outdoor dining and live entertainment make this a great place for locals and visitors alike.

great burgers! i got the sliders so i could sample three different kinds. the original, one with a chile, and the bleu cheese. all were delicious! fries were natural cut and a bit greasy but i thought they were still good that way. laid back atmosphere with nice big patio outside and live bands on occasion. service was friendly and prices were fair. will definitely go back!

very overrated. the fried pickles were just bad. fries were not much better, and the burger was bland and tasted cheap, there are much better choices for a good burger in this city

great burgers super tasty nice change from the chains. love the stockyards,will deffinatley be returning . and the live music really added to the atmosphere .

it was good....... i did like the burger and onion rings, even though they were onion slivers. it was a good burger, nut not up to hype. i wish it had been hotter temperature. not sure if the meat it precooked and kept warm for the lunch crowd. i am willing to try it again to make sure.

i really enjoyed the burgers at the shack. rich and tasty with just enough love sauce to add some spice. fries were a little strange but once i tried them i liked them. didn"t try the chocolate cherry homemade shake and wish i had.
live music also a major plus!

disappointing. cold food, slow service, soggy fries. could have eaten a better burger at whataburger for half the price.
the food prepers don't wear gloves either! yuck.

love shack, baby!. this review is for the stockyards location, love the love shack, the burgers are the best around. its a great people watching
place and fits right in with the area. love it!
