awesome deli, kind and quickserviceand the panini's are excellent. highly recommend the surf and turf panini with waffle fries.

great food & service. i'm new to the area and was looking for a great local place to eat. several people from the area recommended longstreet's to me and i was looking forward to trying it. my first visit and several subsequent visits ii tried a simple french dip sandwich with the signature fripps and it was delicious. served super hot and fast. i finally decided to try a burger on one of my visits and it was delicious. cooked perfectly (medium well) and the soup was incredible. you could definitely tell it was made at longstreet's and not brought in from a can or box...i definitely recommend their soup. this last visit i stopped in for dinner on a friday night. it was super busy but theservicewas great. i thought i'd have a long wait for food but the server was very attentive and she was very friendly. this is definitely a favorite place of mine and i would recommend it to anyone.

longstreet's is worth a try. i'm really surprised to see the reviews about theserviceand food here, but i like longstreet's.

first thing: yes, they need to remove the sign that says "wait to be seated". longstreet'sserviceis like fast food- pay for your meal, seat yourself and wait for your meal. depending upon the level of traffic, you'll get a server to check on your beverages, but don't come here with preconceived notions.

it looks full-service, but it's not and that's okay.

second thing: i love the philly steak wrap and fripps. the desserts are overpriced. the black and blue steak salad is good, but over-priced and its accompanying sliced bread disappointing.

all in all, it is possible to discover a favorite menu item here and embrace the place. embrace it.

i don't even know why i bother going back. i live in downtown richmond, but work in old town petersburg. i've been working here for a little over seven months now and have frequently visited longstreet's on an average of once a week. i honestly do not even know why i come back there. maybe it's because of the lack of choices that are offered in this area, and that it is walking distance from my work. or maybe i'm just spoiled from richmond's diverse palette. longstreet's is good if you are looking for a deep-fried, over saturated greasy chicken wrap and waffle fries, but you leave feeling bloated and guilty for giving the time of day and $10 to the place. today, i decided to give up the grease for once and go with a chicken caesar salad, served with bread. i have never been so disappointed with a caesar salad in my life. not only was it nine dollars too much, but the bread consisted of standard white sandwich bread cut into square coated with butter and garlic salt. the chicken had absolutely not taste at all, the lettuce was shriveled up iceburg lettuce, and the croutons were stale. i could cook better dishes for a third of the price at home. it's sad that longstreet's is the only "convenient" old town petersburg sandwich and fries place. i would recommend saving a few dollars more and going to wabi sabi down the street. they make wonderful salmon burgers and salads. theserviceis good there too. but to conclude this review, i am most of all disappointed in myself for giving longstreet's the chance over and over again to win my approval and satisfaction. they are overpriced, serving bland food that is only somewhat tasty from loading it up with a ton of salt and grease.

good grease fix. perfect for those days i crave a bbq bacon burger with some loaded waffle fries! the bbq sauce is sweet and the waffle fries are spot on. it's good food as far as bars go and the drinks aren't half bad. also had the wings for appetizers and was surprised to find it very tasty! the wings come out lightly breaded and crisp. no soggy pizza hut wings here.

theservicecan get slow when the place is packed but i went at 3pm on friday (before the dinner rush) and our waitress was nice and attentive.

so much potential, it's a shame.. they get allot of people. not becaus of the flavor,serviceor decor, but by default. unfortunately in petersburg you don't have allot of choices, so unless you wanna drive more then 10 min you have to settle. they hide shredded sub lettuce under larger leafs in salads. so they look good on first inspections, but as soon as you get into it it's all shredded iceberg. the crab dip is the best thing on the menu, unfortunately they serve it with regular slices of white toast cut into quarters. please consider putting more thought and quality into your food.

good food, poor service.. first time visit on 12/26 for lunch. food was great.servicewas non-existent. we placed our order for sandwiches and a beer at the back cashier. found a table, used my handkerchief to wipe it off and sat... never saw a server anywhere for nearly 30 minutes. place was not very busy at all. bartender was busy chatting with the one customer at the bar the whole time. my husband finally went back to the cashier and inquired about the beers and the sandwiches. he was told it would be brought to us soon. 10 minutes later he asked the bartender how do we get our beers, and she said sorry she hadn't looked at her screen to see the order. food came shortly thereafter with no napkins or utensils. we asked the bartender and she found some. i'd give it another try because the food was good, but if theserviceisn't any better it'll be my last visit.

good enough. basic food made well right in downtown petersburg. nothing out of this world but it does the job at a good price.servicecan get slow at peak hours - but happy hour is well worth it. they have a superb collection of great microbrews on draught.
