very interesting space and decor. attentive service and tyler was a fun wait person. everything was delicious especially the steak. as if someone had massaged the beef from infanthood onward. the elk slider with fois grad was other-worldly.greatpresentation and modest portions. note: very pricey, but worth it.

absolutely delicious. stopped without a reservation but was able to eat at the bar. the tenderloin and chile relleno were very good. the mac n cheese side was to die for! we also loved the butter leaf salads. greatservice. entertaining bartender. we will definitely be back...

i remember coming here a few days before christmas last year. i finally decided to book a reservation for 4 with visitors from the uk to finally heed the ravings of my work colleagues who’ve been here a couple of times. the staff was very professional. they were very particular about when the dishes come out and in which order, their equal attention and devotion to the diners, their enthusiastic erudition of what’s on the menu and what you’re about to eat. it’s agreatfine dining ambience which i don’t get to witness much these days where i live. it was agreatand surprisingly pleasant pre-holiday celebration now stuck forever in my memory.

great food, drinks and service. i will be back to have the elk entree again. the warm ancho spiced chocolate cake is a must order. we also had the elk sausage/foie gras sliders,lobster hush puppies and the butter lettuce salad was big hit with the wife and i.greatmeal.

i've been to lonesome dove twice now and both times it has been amazing and my favorite fort worth restaurant to date. the service has beengreatboth times (first time at a table; second at the bar). i love the plethora of different game meats that tim love offers at this restaurant. lets get to the items tried:

hand cut beef tenderloin- was one of the best steaks i've had period, but definitely in my 6 months in texas.

yukon gold mash- too be honest a lot of fine dining restaurants miss the mark across the country when it comes to mashed potatoes, but i feel like tim love does a pretty decent job with his here at lonesome dove.

white truffle mac $ cheese- they use either orzo pasta or something similar. it's definitely different. it was good, but not the best i've had.

elk carpaccio nachos- they were made in the same style as the kangaroo carpaccio nachos. very delicious. it was my first time exploring with elk, but i really enjoyed it.

seared foie gras, cinco cebollos, and grilled toast- first and foremost i am a foie gras fiend. i haven't met any foie gras i haven't loved. tim love's interpretation here is delicious as can be; a must try.

seared lamb lollipops with yuzu aoili- i am a huge lamb fan and especially chops. i love the pairing of the yuzu aoili here; very unique, but in a positive way. perfectly cooked. my wife stated they're the best lamb she's had anywhere and i make her get it just about everywhere we go.

blue corn lobster hushpuppies with watercress butter- i thought these were very good; like an even better version of a crab-cake.

seared diver scallop, duck confit and salsify puree- really enjoyed the inclusion of the duck confit here. very tender. the scallops were cooked perfectly.

kangaroo carpaccio nachos, avocado salsa, habanero-fig demi glace- first time trying kangaroo and i loved it. tasted like a better version of carnitas and was amazing!

hamachi tostadas, ponzu, cilantro, toasted garlic, bacon and serrano- this were quite amazing. yellowtail with jalapeno or serrano and ponzu is just a lovely pairing to me always.

authentic mexican churros with chocolate, caramel and raspberry dipping sauces- i ma not going to lie, i could live without the chocolate and raspberry sauces, but the churros themselves paired with the caramel was divine.

in closing i may find a better fort worth restaurant one day, but lonesome dove will forever remain a favorite of mine and is my favorite presently in fort worth. i definitely would recommend coming here.

overrated. love isn't sogreator original. i'm impressed he actually manages to keep more than one restaurant open, guess that's due to the mass simpletons who haven't actually had real good fine dining. try again love and this time don't piss everyone off in nyc when you bad mouth flay even though both of you are one and the same.

very overpriced! had lunch for 4 of us with 3 appetizers and each a main dish $250.00 before tip! the appetizers where $120 alone! we each had one drink also. the food was notgreatan service was bad. will not go back no advise anyone to ever go.

note to the manager if he cares, tell the server to better explain prices. when an appetizer says $15 most people think you going to get 4 or so pieces for $15 not 15 each!

hushpuppies & elk sliders wentgreatwith our bottle of fine zinfandel. main dish was the chicken & brussels sprouts. 1/2 portion was plenty when pecan pie with whipped cream for dessert.greatatmosphere prompt service. a must place to come back a second time

kitchen too damn hot!!. tim love's western bistro has undoubtedly driven stockyard rent too damn high but apparently the beautiful old building was not up to heat coming from the kitchen either. cool place,greatfood but the kitchen was too damn hot. hope the floors survived. i thought somebody was bbqing. it was a fire!! ain't nobody got time for dat!! good guy greg (john?) and maybe the best valet doods evar will flawlessly take your keys to chef love's, conveniently closer to billy bob's, white elephant valet station if you have late night billy bob plans and i don't usually forget shiat in the car but when i do i want these car jockeys on it as they will quickly and gladly fetch the car when your most interesting (drunk) ass remembers, in the middle of dinner, you just need to grab what you've forgotten there.

dependably great. we recently had two bad experiences at eddie v's on 7 th st. thought we'd try ld as it has always been a favorite. tim and his team did not disappoint. the exceptional, friendly service and thegreattasting cuisine were as we remembered. adios eddie v's, hello lonesome dove. we should have never left you. oh, by the way, the best manhattan in north texas will be found at lonesome dove!!!

delicious food, horrible service sounds like a title of agreatnovel, right? from the moment my party and i walked in we were greeted with the lack of respect that you would receive at places like "dicks last resort" (due to the experience they provide). from too good "shirley" the hostess on the phone and bartender "betty" who ignored us, i figured this was going to be a wild ride. enough with chit chat, delicious food horrible service should really tell you everything you need to know.

wonderful decor but food was ok. i had the lobster hushpuppies very bland inside i added salt which helped a lot! ordered the signature filet which despite being "stuffed" with roasted garlic it was bland, but then filet is always bland but i was hoping they would raise it up in flavor. i ordered the newest dessert apple pie with jalapeño ice cream and white cheddar on the side. it was good and different. pie was a little under cooked but tasty. the cheese was agreatchaser to get rid of that lingering sweetness.

yeehaw!!. two thumbs up. glad to have agreatplace in the stockyards to take visitors. must try as many of the exotic meats as possible and the yukon mashed potatoes are to die for
