quick review

service - once you make it through the line, the staff is super friendly, which can be a challenge given how popular this place is, which means they are constantly busy.

atmosphere - this is an outdoor venue on a busy corner in the highland area of downtown denver but the ice cream is served from a 28-foot giant sized milk can, that in itself makes this a great atmosphere.

presentation - little man gives patrons many options for how to consume their ice cream; cups, cones, cookies, shakes, malts, and sundaes. not only that but, multiple flavor options and toppings are hard to knock.

value - homemade ice cream, giant milk can, a plethora of options and great tasting ice cream, the value is there.

location - highland area of downtown denver, co

in honor of the ice cream scoop i will be using a 5 scoop rating system, 1 scoop is notgood(it never is) and 5 scoops is top of the world

i give the little man ...4 1/2 scoops...do yourself a favor and try a flavor!

on the corner of 30th ave and 16th st in the highland neighborhood of downtown denver is a very eclectic mix of businesses. linger, a former mortuary turned restaurant, the lohi athletic club with ironic floor to ceiling windows, and the little man ice cream shop. each of these businesses has its own unique look and feel but little man is by far the most unique. the shop is a 28-foot milk can towering over the corner and folks from all over come to visit for quirky flavors this restaurant delivers to its patrons.

standing in line is part and parcel of a visit to little man, whether you go in mid-winter or during the heart of summer the line is there, it may be 10 people or it could be 50 but it is a real thing. however, this line should not deter anyone from visiting this place. the staff serving you is all smiles and super helpful, they cheerfully give you samples, take your order and efficiently get the ice cream in your hands.

standing outside allows customers to enjoy the weather, whatever it may be at the time, and to maybe commiserate if it is a little chilly. during the summer months the patio that overlooks all the businesses hosts musicians of various genres adding to the atmosphere. all of the various items meld together to make the whole experience unique and worthwhile.

with so many options for flavors and delivery choosing an option may be a difficult, however, be rest assured, one cannot go wrong, for no matter what is chosen the homemade ice cream is smooth, tasty and filled with love.

take the time to find this locale, you will not be sorry you did.

ice cream!!! ice cream!!! i scream for ice cream!!! a hot spot for a cool treat. this is a one of a kind ice cream shop, as evidenced by the unique store front (a 30 foot tall milk can). small and mighty this little shop scoops out one flavor after the next - delighting every customer. worth the wait? during the peak season the line can get really long! fear not, get agoodconversation started and before you know it you’ll be treated by the staff as if there was no line. need to taste a few, no problem. it’s your turn - take your time and select exactly what your taste buds desire. also, during the fall the place looks amazing with all the staged pumpkins.

i’ll be honest: i’d probably gain a lot of weight if i lived in any of those apartment buildings next to little man. they have such an eclectic selection of flavors to rotate through, and from my impression of the three that i tried, i’m sure that they would all be prettygoodin their own respects.

good, not great. little man is a staple of denver, but i agree with some other reviewers that it's not the best ice cream in the city. the building is cute, and the ice cream is pretty good, and worth waiting in line for (which you will have to do if you go on a summer night!). some of the flavors are unique, but almost a little too unique, to the point where there was only one chocolate option (notgoodfor chocoholics like myself!). in general, i liked the whole vibe of little man, and it's worth going to for sure.

i scream, you scream, we all scream. we all scream for little man ice cream! this is our favorite place for ice cream! not only is the venue a unique outdoor setting with a nostalgic feel, the hand made ice cream is delicious, in a variety of unique flavors. my favorite is the mexican chocolate, which has a hint of cinnamon. and yes, it is true, an adult can get a kid sized cone because i guess they realize that there's a kid in all of us. and they offer the real kids a slide to play on, while parents/adults relax at one of the many cute tables or vintage patio furniture and people watch. or, you can walk across the street to the park, and camp out there while enjoying your sweet treat. oh yeah, one other reason to feelgoodabout getting ice cream here....part of the proceeds go to help provide rice to those in need, in countries like ethiopia. so eat up! (my 7 yr old son would like me to add his review as well, so here it is "i like little man ice cream...it's the bestest one")
