lindo michoacan - la loma

love going there!!! the food is soooo delicious!  and the margaritas omg sooo good!!!! we live in los angeles, california and every time we go to vegas, we go there. bestmexicanrestaurant in vegas.

when the view is better than the food, you know you've got a problem. i had the chile rellenos with shrimp, which was a very good culinary idea, but the execution left something to be desired. my partner had the shrimp fajitas which he said were not particularly stellar, either. for the price of the food, i would have expected a more vibrant taste. the margaritas were fine, and i liked the smoky spiciness of the salsa, but there was really nothing there to make me return. there are simply far too many other really goodmexicanfood restaurants in the vegas valley.

during our dining experience, the mariachi band and a handful of singers walked around the restaurant and ultimately to our table, and we were just elated and thoroughly entertained! and although some may say it is a little cheesy and pandering to our perception ofmexicanculture, all we can say is that we had a truly enjoyable time- and in the end of our culinary experience it came down to our dining company complimenting the ambience and cuisine; with memories of a fun time with family!!

service sucks. if you want rude customer service, then this is the place for you. the staff have never heard that the "customer's always right", especially when the placed orders were screwed up. was looking forward to goodmexicanfood, but was treated to mediocre fare and overtly angry and threatening waiter.

still gotta make the trip north.... it's too bad with so few goodmexicanrestaurants, what passes now for good is just very ordinary. the food at lindo is plentiful on the plate and not outrageously priced... it's just that it does not make you say, i must return here (or to any of their other restaurants).
for folks in henderson, it's a long trip up to the world market center, but that's where you'll find interesting and very creativemexicanfare... at mundo restaurant. ..(moving from their previous location over on ft apache, wish they decided to come to henderson instead).

comida mexicana muy excelente! y vistas muy bonitas tambien!. i just came back from the new lindo michoacan just up the hill from me in macdonald ranch... and i think my dad was about as happy about us going as i was. he's usually a tough critic on comida mexicana, considering all the options he has in orange county, but i think the flavors here were good enough to satisfy him.

i fear this may sound too cliche, but the chiles rellenos here were awesome! they're pasilla chiles stuffed with oaxaca cheese and topped with a nice salsa roja. and oh my goodness, they were addictive!

the house made tortillas that came with them were also quite addictive on their own. but of course, the beans & rice went nicely with them.

even the chips and salsa made me happy. the pico de gallo salsa wasn't too hot, but it had a good zesty flavor that prepared me for the fabulous cadillac margarita i downed with the chips and salsa.

oh, and how can i forget the platanos flameados! think bananas foster, but donemexicanstyle and finished withmexicanfried ice cream. it was served (literally!!) flaming hot, and hands down this may have been the best dessert i've ever had so far!

so for comida muy buena, great drinks, and real postres to remember, lindo is the place... and the views will also make for wonderful memories.
