regular. i am a regular at liam's, i love the service and it is the only place in town that serves beer the exact temperature...although i love going there for the atmosphere and drinks ..there menu is average and to be honest a bit boring.

unlike the clocktower chain of pub, here is a place that consistently delivers well presented, tasty & healthy food choices. it is unfortunate the location is a little out of the way.

updated review since the manager wrote back to me and promised to take corrective action. i initially rated 1 based on the service. i am updating to a 3 since the food was very good. i initially complained about the terrible service we received that day. it was our first visit to this place. i wanted to treat my son and daughter-in-law to a nice supper in their new neighbourhood. i made it clear to our server that the bill (one bill) should come to me. firstly, after bringing out beer, the server made us wait about 15 minutes before coming back to take our order. i went on to order two beers for myself, extra food for the table to share, and ordered the grilled salmon for myself. secondly, when bringing our food to the table, the server said something about ordering a lot of food. she made us uncomfortable about the amount of food we ordered. thirdly, the server let my daughter-in-law pay for the entire bill, this despite me making it clear that i wanted the bill. lastly, as we walked through the restaurant to leave, i asked the server about bringing me the bill and she said, “oh, she got to me first.” the server made the whole experience pretty embarrassing for me and my family.

awesome burgers! the reuben is great too, and the service is always fantastic! my favourite meal so far was pulled pork mac and cheese (a lunch special) and it was out of this world. definitely a great lunch spot. good specials (cheap bar rail on thursdays!)

i've been here 3-4 times and have really enjoyed the food each and every time. my faves are the soups and the burgers, and the sweet potato fries are also great. the soups are always interesting and really, really tasty. good selection of beer, decent service if you go early enough. i'll definitely be back.

great pub,great food. excellent food, great service, friendly atmosphere very reasonably priced luncheon specials. delicious dinners at affordable prices. the owner, managers, cooks and waiters are very friendly and they do an excellent job. eaten there so many times and recommend this restaurant to everyone. can't understand the negative comments some people made. i'm a regular customer and will not stop going there. sly!

good food, inconsistent service. i have eaten here quite a few times. the food keeps calling me back.
the menu consists of pub food. what you are presented with is better presented and tastes better than most of the pub food i've had. the kitchen is consistently good at getting the food right.
the service has been both great, good and underwhelming depending on how busy it is and who is serving you. i have yet to have what i would classify as bad service.
will definitely go back.

great food garbage service. i used to come to liam's quite often up until a year and a half ago when i moved away from ottawa. however the last few fridays at liam's have forever tainted my image of this establishment and it would take a miracle of biblical proportions to ever bring me back.
first off let me start by saying i do not usually write restaurant reviews however this time i felt compelled to. the food was great i found the menu to be superb for a pub and when our order finally was take the good was ready within a reasonable amount of time. however the service i received was dismal. there was a bartender and a server working. the dining room was not even a quarter full but i still was waiting as if it was a dinner time rush. the server on the floor was running around dealing with the tables however the bartender who didn't seem very busy at all was standing around constantly on her phone and was over serving this extremely loud and obnoxious girl who seemed like her friend. when i approached the bartender to ask her if she could take her our order she glared at me and stated that the server would be right with me. and she then turned back to her phone.

this happened to me last friday and i thought perhaps she was just having a bad day however when i returned yesterday and received the same horrible disrespectful service from the same girl i realized that wasn't the case. i think liam's needs really look into who they have running their establishment when they are not around because this is a lovely place but the service just ruins the experience.

great social event place. staff meeting held at liam's was a real unexpected treat! jennifer the owner recommended it to my boss. she took great care of us. the food was way better than pub food and the staff warm and friendly. we will rebook soon!

liam's. honestly, the food is good and the staff is pretty friendly. however, the wait times can be ridiculous, even when more than half the place is empty. i am part of a younger crowd, maybe that's why some of the waitresses tend to ignore us or wait longer before coming over to take our orders. however the environment is very laid back. they need to bring bar rail back for saturdays, if properly advertised could bring in a younger crowd and make more business.

acceptable pub food, poor service. dropped in on a quiet thursday night - only 3 tables on the patio (tables of 8, 4, and 2) and maybe 2 in the pub itself were occupied. yet for some reason, service was incredibly slow. the delay was all service based. half of our food orders came out in a reasonable time, the other half maybe 5 minutes late. perhaps our server was having a bad day. she was very pleasant, but the time it took to bring out our drinks, bring the bills and stuff was just far too long.

on the positive side, my roast beef dip was pretty good and all my colleagues enjoyed their food as well.

worth another try when i am in the area, but certainly not going to go out of my way.

liam maguire's is awful. terrible place. noisy and full of drunks on a friday evening. you are greeted with a sign at the door badly typed, stating max occupancy...a bad omen. i can't eat cream and everything comes with mashed potatoes with cream, only option being greasy fries. ordered meatloaf but waitress came back to say it wasn't available even though it was on the menu. the dinner menu is mainly sandwiches instead of normal dinner fare. ordered chicken tenders instead, which were very greasy. small portions too. then the waitress charged us for a drink we did not order. a terrible noisy place, with bad food & bad service, & we will never darken its doorway again.

decent pub food. we go once in awhile for lunch on friday. the beef au jus is better than average and service is good. we will continue to keep going.
