lentil garden

it was good. concerned about food temps on the lunch buffet line. several dishes not hot. but still good tastes. not sure they've displaced swaggets on my list!!

consistently good. a few years ago i might have agreed with the reviews that said lentil garden was bland, but i have consistently enjoyed it for lunch over the past year. they usually keep around the americans-favorite-standby (chicken makhani), but every time i've gone there has been at least one different dish in the mix, including a spicy baby corn dish, and my favorite, gobi pickles. there are many vegetarian options -- and they have brown rice.

great lunch buffet! so-so dinner. i ordered the same lunch buffet dish for dinner, and it was not even close to as flavorful. but definitely check it out for lunch- the buffet is very extensive. one complaint- like most indian buffets, the naan gets too old and dry.

quality food, for a price, but not that much food to warrant the price...

the service was horrible!!! our order was messed up. the wine on the wine list did not exist ! on the bright side the chickentikka masala was tasty!!!

lentil garden = bad food. obviously 75% of the people disagree with me. they are probably not south indian. we should have wondered when swagat is rated 86% by urbanspoon - and swagat is horrible. i think the basic problem is common to most indian restaurants in this region. a menu of 140 dishes served 7 days a week is going to be difficult to profitably sustain in quality and freshness. corners are bound to be cut and it shows: masala in dosas is ice cold, pakoras were not drained to filter some oil, koftas had not soaked in the gravy, waitress was too tired to ensure that cook followed instructions, and the list goes on. i think most indian restaurants would be better off offering 20 items a day, 7 different menus a week with the same 140 dishes. they can serve fresh food, have a more organized kitchen and get some repeat customers. i would love for the place to do well but clearly they are not paying attention to their business.

bland. i tried the lunch buffet because i had never had any
indian food and i wanted to try everything. it was all very tasteless. i went with several others who agreed with me. i have never come across a type of food i disliked. i don't know if i would ever try indian food again because of this restaurant.

okay.. their food was a bit boring to me. there was only one thing i tried that i thought was delicious (it was an appetizer..) but other than that everything else was a bit bland, especially for indian food. its not bad at all but i'd rather get cheaper but better food from a cart downtown.
