prefer mom's deli. in south st. louis, there are two camps of sandwich eaters, those who favor mom's deli and those who chose legrands. i've always been a mom's fan and finally tried legrand's recently. the legrand's sandwich simply had too much sauce and it overpowered the sandwich to the point where it was all i tasted. my boyfriend said the same thing about his legrand's sandwich. i'm not going to say it was a bad sandwich--themeatand bread were good, but i still prefer mom's deli.

sandwich connoisseur's review. don't let the super market facade fool you, these guys know how to make a sandwich! i've tried numerous highly touted sandwich shops in st louis. many of them referred to as "the best in st louis". that honor belongs to one place, legrand's market and deli. nothing i've ever had anywhere comes close to legrand'smeatpacked, flavorful, quality sandwiches. they use the highest quality ofmeat(boar's head) and they pile it on! everyone there is always friendly and kind. prices are incredibly reasonable. i've sent more than 12 friends to try this st louis hill's gem, and every single one has thanked me... and gone back...

legrand's is very, very good! fair warning: most of the sandwiches have a little heat (spice) to them with the sauces & creams they use. but oh, are they good! my favorite is the stan the man which features krakow (a polish ham sausage sliced thick) with gruyere cheese, garlic cream cheese and sweet pickles - it's so good! if you like a lot ofmeaton your sandwich & spicy spreads, you'll love this place.
