every time i drive through the asian district, i pass the large white building sporting the lee's sandwiches sign and am intrigued by the descriptives on either side…"euro-asian sandwiches, baguettes and croissants, coffees, desserts, smoothies, ice cream". recently, our daughter-in-law laura called me and screamed "you have to try lee's!". well, okay, maybe not screamed, but she was very boisterous to be sure. i mentally filed away the thought and then 2 more weeks of life just blew right past me. then, monday night at our small group, one of the young ladies randomly said, "hey katie, have you tried lee's? i love that place!" mr. wonderful and i visited it the next day. walking into the large building, it is bright and airy and almost aesthetically clean. you have to wait in line to order at the counter, and during the entire lunc hour, the line just got longer. people were streaming in and

delicious!. i am so happy i found this place! originally from dc, i'm spoiled with great viet sandwiches. these sandwiches are even better than some of the places i've had back home. the baguette's are very fresh and great tasting. . i haven't tried the gelato but it looks delicious. but the best part is the price. a great lunch for all under $5!

great french bread. the price is great and so is the bread. the innards are good, too, but go down the street to the giant asian market and the sandwiches are even cheaper and they put more meat on than any banh mi i've ever had.

variety. the place has an atmosphere like a hospital cafeteria, but the variety of good sandwiches at a reasonable price makes up for it, as well as the selection of coffee and teas.

note: bring cash.

stopped by on a whim, and i'm so glad i did! they serve the tastiest breakfast sandwiches i've ever had! i normally hate breakfast sandwiches because they're so greasy, but the ham, egg and cheese on a baguette was perfect. after reading the other reviews, i think i may go back for lunch to try some of the more exotic options. great prices and the entire shop is sparkling clean.

lots of food for little price. they give you the best price for sandwiches of any asian sandwich shop. they have a large selection. they have fresh meat pastries on the side for as little as under a dollar. they have ice cream and asian puddings you can't find many other places. great fallback place to eat.

cheap tasty sandwiches!. you can get a really decent sandwich for cheap at lee's! i couldn't believe my turkey, ham, and cheese (with mayo, lettuce, and tomato) on a fresh 10" baguette was only $3.45! as my date commented upon first bite, the baguette has a great crusty crunch, but starts to melt in your mouth! i tried the manjoo things some others mentioned on here, which i would liken to a little twinkie. i didn't particularly like them as the sweet bread was dense and tasted stale, but to be fair, they were sold out of the fresh ones and we had to try the day-old ones. and if i remember correctly, you can get a bag of day-old baguettes for just $1.15.
