i have been to the lazy dog cafe in anaheim, so i knew what i was getting myself into when making the long 1.2 mile journey to the new lazy dog cafe opening in the marketplace. i was happy to find that this lazy dog lives up to the reputation of its predecessors. the interiordecoris one of my favorite of all local restaurants - what i would classify as a hybrid between modern and craftsman style with a slightly rustic flavor and feels somewhat romantically cozy. the food, as usual, was wonderful. i had the hawaiian ahi poke appetizer; the prosciutto, bleu cheese & baby spinach salad; and bubba's bbq chicken pizza. all were deliciously fantastic and displayed the chef's mastery of culinary creativity. the poke was a fairly traditional take on a standard poke, but was so much more with a great combination of asian flavor like sesame and soy. the salad was a fantastic plate, probably my favorie of the evening. fantastic flavor combinations of salty prosciutto and candied walnuts plus the sweet tart of dried cranberries and the robustness of bleu cheese played wonderous flavor symphonies on my tongue. the bbq chicken pizza was also very nice. sweet bbq sauce and tender chicken covered in smokey gouda sprinkled with cilantro and onions all on top of a nice crispy pizza crust. i also suggest the passion iced tea, it compliments everything very nicely. also, very friendly service albiet slowish, which i would attribute to it being their first night open to the public. i would suggest the hummus trio as well. i did not have it on this dining adventure, but have in the past and it is some of the better hummus i have tried.
