my fish and chips were so good! the dipping sauce went perfect with the beer battered cod (and occasionally dipping the fries in it).

three out of four. our party of 4 visited lazy dog, got right in. since my sister and her husband had never been there, we got free garlic bread. we also ordered the edamame. i enjoyed the kung pao, my brother-in-law enjoyed his stir fry, my friend enjoyed her meatloaf. my sister had ordered her burger medium well, it wasn't medium well but they did attempt to fix. we liked it and would definitely visit again.

bland food. overpriced, and plain!!!!!!! cookie cutter with an extra charge for the decor. if you take away the decorations and just took the food take out, of course that defeats the point of what this place is about, but if you did you could get the same kind of food at just about any american diner style restaurant. actually you could probably do better at a diner and not have to pay extra for the gimmic decorations.

paws down. there was nothing special about this place other than their cheezy gimmic dog theme which was kinda cute but does not make up for the very plain boring food. next time i'm in the area i will go over to bjs which i think is in the same parking lot and has food that actually is decent and worth the money. don't get me wrong there was nothing wrong with the food , but there also was nothing that great about it. i honestly would enjoy a sandwhich at denny's much more than the one i had at lazy dog. i think the only thing that could get me back in that place again is if they actually put hot dogs on the menu. that would be very cool and unique since hardly any place has them. however, as of right now there's nothing special or unique about the food.

ok, but i still prefer bj's. funny thing is: lazy dog and bj's are in the same mall and right next to each other, and they basically serve the same food.
food was ok in lazy dog but not exceptional. menu selection is not as wide as bj's; thus i still prefer bj's.

good, but not great. been there a couple of times- the food i had was good, but not great. service was excellent and wait staff was friendly enough. this is one of those places that i think if you go too often you don't feel the same way as the first time, and things start to go down hill. you start to notice the inconsistencies in food quality and taste. don't get me wrong - i will go back - but it is just not a great place, but good.

two paws up. dogs are welcome on the patio with other dog-loving couples/families. the food is divine, and the subtle dog decor is witty (a red fire hydrant is the base of the outside menu). if you love dogs, drinks and great tasting food...go!

comfortable. this lazy dog has all the comforts i am used to at the orange location (it is orange, not anaheim but it is near anaheim). the food, decor and service are all reliably good. there is always a comfort in coming here even when it is very busy. i do prefer the orange location because the patio area is much larger with big fire rings. but i cannot fault them for that as they had to work with the old restaurant that was already here.

irvine people. used to live irvine. i sometimes wonder how much the generic/commonality/suburban lifestyle has affected the taste buds of those in south county. this restaurant is a glorified elephant bar. quality is not in the food but the decor. if you like soup plantation, this is your place. if you want quality food and can see beyond the decor, don't come here.

i have been to the lazy dog cafe in anaheim, so i knew what i was getting myself into when making the long 1.2 mile journey to the new lazy dog cafe opening in the marketplace. i was happy to find that this lazy dog lives up to the reputation of its predecessors. the interior decor is one of my favorite of all local restaurants - what i would classify as a hybrid between modern and craftsman style with a slightly rustic flavor and feels somewhat romantically cozy. the food, as usual, was wonderful. i had the hawaiian ahi poke appetizer; the prosciutto, bleu cheese & baby spinach salad; and bubba's bbq chicken pizza. all were deliciously fantastic and displayed the chef's mastery of culinary creativity. the poke was a fairly traditional take on a standard poke, but was so much more with a great combination of asian flavor like sesame and soy. the salad was a fantastic plate, probably my favorie of the evening. fantastic flavor combinations of salty prosciutto and candied walnuts plus the sweet tart of dried cranberries and the robustness of bleu cheese played wonderous flavor symphonies on my tongue. the bbq chicken pizza was also very nice. sweet bbq sauce and tender chicken covered in smokey gouda sprinkled with cilantro and onions all on top of a nice crispy pizza crust. i also suggest the passion iced tea, it compliments everything very nicely. also, very friendly service albiet slowish, which i would attribute to it being their first night open to the public. i would suggest the hummus trio as well. i did not have it on this dining adventure, but have in the past and it is some of the better hummus i have tried.

the new lazy dog cafe in the irvine marketplace will open at 5:00 pm tonight. they are taking over the spot that has been vacated by the failed restaurants french 75, wilhelm's chophouse and martin yan's restaurant that i can not recall the name of. lazy
