i never write reviews . i am hoping the owners read this and ups their game. the food is pretty darngood, the service is crap. had to wait a long time to be seated, once seated the waiter never came , the chips were stale , the silverware did not arrive til way after out plates were delivered , saw a waiter walking by eating a chip .....all the tables were full of dirty dishes ... come on ! get it together! the enchiladas saved them.

mexican eatery in fair oaks ranch. 3.5 stars. esposa and i stopped for lunch here. service was friendly but a bit slow. food wasgoodto very good, but certainly not "the best" of anything as other reviewers state. we're moving out to this area soon and will likely return to try it again. if return visits impress me, i'll update my review accordingly.

i'm just dizzy for this place?!. question: when is a bar not a bar? when it's sitting in the middle of the las cruces restaurant. apparently this location served drinks before it became the current mexican food restaurant and has a large three sided bar close to the entrance. it's noticeably bare of any liquor bottles, beer taps, or neon signs. so don't expect to have a cold one with your tacos unless you bring it yourself.

the outside patio, which is on the other side of the bar that is not a bar, looks inviting if and when the blast furnace ever gets turned down below 95 degrees outside. it's covered and looks like it might be agoodplace to have a beer in the evening, if you bring your own.

all of the food that our group tried was freshly prepared, well made and served hot (nuclear) with few exceptions. it wasgoodenough to literally make one of our lunch party dizzy. not sure what happened there, but after a few jolts of coke, she returned to the living again in time to box up the remainder of her meal for a later repast.

the frijoles borrachos were the only complete miss. the flavor was unusual which may have resulted from a little scorching of the macerated beans and viscous "gravy". plump texas gulf coast shrimp were used for the shrimp tacos (i could taste the iodine). one did have the shell left on to the suprise of the diner which was promptly removed. nachos, tacos, and enchiladas were all satisfactory togood(depending on the person doing the sampling of course - hard to please everyone with everything ).

other than the minor hiccups and dizzy spells cited, i would definitely come back for more of the same. and i might even remember to bring a cold beer though there is a liquor store at the end of the strip center row! noticed that one on the way out, but have it filed away now for next time.
